Life getting back on track, new job

So after a long horrible period of self loathing. I finally got another job, its only low end work at at food chain BUT... you american will love this. Thanks to living in a modern society with fair labour laws. I get paid 23 dollars an hour.
Working 35-45 hours a week now and loving actually doing shit rather than sitting round the house and just heroining it up all day long. Depression is gone and anxiety is much better. So shit is looking good for me atm
All I need a gf and life will be complete.
As to why I got back on track. I think it had to do with not wanting a career. Everyone is kinda of pushed into doing big things and living up to expectations. But I just had no interest in literally any kind of career. Im perfectly happy doing my job getting paid and then doing shit I love outside of work. Not saying i will never pursue a career but im fine where I am atm because im still young.

You know their money is worth less right? 23 AUD is 16.54 USD. Still pretty good depending on how raped they get on taxes down there. My Aussie friend says you don't have to pay back student loans until you hit a certain income point, that's beyond awesome. If you live to 80 and never get a good job you don't have to pay.

Wow, here student loans are compounded daily so the longer the life of the loan (bc lower income) the more you pay. Talk about getting fucked. Also I graduated a year ago and don't yet make as much as you even. Eh I'll sell you a gun though. As for the tush, college, no matter what age you are, is the spot. G spot yo

What OP fails to mention is, the prices for fucking anything in Australia is significantly higher than anything here in the states.
An average meal at a run of the mill restaurant in Australia is $17. Here in the states, the average is $11. A pack of cigarettes in Australia? $18. Here in the states, $6.72. Average apartment in Australia? $1,780 per month. In the states, $1,100.
http://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2014/03/05/everything-australia-expensive/
So yeah, his amazing $23 an hour job will get him an average meal and a pack of fucking gum afterward.
Yeah OP, you're knee deep in cash flow, aren't you
And congratulations on getting hired in the incredibly difficult and enriching field of flipping burgers and asking customers if they want any extra ketchup -- you sir, have officially made it.

How about this dude, detailing his experience in Australia.
He paid $12 for a single beer at a pub, $6 for a popsicle, and $26 for a club sandwich

If you do currency conversions then the cost difference is really minimal when you consider that Australia is somewhere that most people would want to live.
Basically, comparing $11 to $12.30 is nearly meaningless. When you consider minimum wage in your country, the minimum wage in Australia is more agreeable to the cost of living.

Thanks for all the support guys
Yes cost of living is higher, but its impossible to really compare. aussie cigs are one of the most taxed in the world. I would still say a single person could live comfortably on minimum wage which is ~$17.

Watch out, the stingy americans who think anyone not contributing how they percieve is in a 'non-looser' way will tell you what a looser job you have because this site is full of self-rightious people who can;t stand happiness in others it's nice you are secure in your job

see the things is that shooting was national news and one of the biggest stories of the week. In america a single shooting wouldnt even make local news.

Congrats on getting a job.
I'm unemployed and really having trouble getting motivated to apply for work.
I'm on unemployment right and have some benefits till the end of the year. $1800 a month in California, pretty decent. I'm scrambling to find a job before december though since no one really hires during late december/ January due to the holidays.
Time to smoke crack and inject meth into my dick to get motivated to get a job.

Every job ive ever got is just pure luck. Same goes with most people I know. Getting a job isnt about skill. Aslong as you can answer interview questions and have the basic requirements. You just have to be in the right place at the right time and hope the interviewer picks you.
