Should I Case?

Here's where my tubs are 3 days after spawning to bulk:

Yeah... I really should have evened the substrate out a little better, but I was so worried about overly packing it or obsessing over getting everything perfectly level that I would end up somehow contaminating it.
Anyway, by the look of things, I am probably 3 to 4 days out from fruiting? That is, unless I take casing on. I know you all discourage noobs from adding a casing layer... one more thing to fuck up, but with your help I think I can do it! I was also wanting to fruit outside in my monoubs and thought the casing might help hold moisture in and protect my little guys.
What do you think?

Im no veteran by any means but I can tell you 100% means 100%
3 days out? I think 8-10 is average before casing

I know what 100% means... lol. No offense, but my question wasn't when should I case, but SHOULD I add a casing layer since cubes don't need them to fruit. I expect this to be at 100% pretty soon.

Well, is it PE, and how good do you consider yourself at dialing monotubs in correctly?

Patience....! Put the lid back on the tub and don't mess with it until at least 10 days or more... You will want a full colonize surface before you put it to fruiting conditions..
It look good though.. Fast aggressive Mycelium...

They aren't PE. These first 2 tubs are GT and are my very first monotubs. I am a good study and understand the science behind dialing in my tubs fairly well. I'm also not too worried if it all goes to shit because I have 12 jars of grain nearly fully colonized with Malabar and about 10 Petri plate with Argentina ready to go (to what I am not quite sure yet).
What I do know, is that I am enjoying the cultivation process and not entirely concerned with yield at this point. Although, I would like to see some fruits from my labor, so to speak.

I would love to try PE, but I want a few bulk grows under my belt before I take them on.

I wouldn't case it then... since its your first tub, just fruit it when it's ready and learn to dial your poly correctly... get a feel for monotubs, then if you still want to try casing go for it later on...

I'm torn on casings altogether back when everyone was against casing cubes I used them and wouldn't have it any other way. Now with this last run cased 6 6qt tubs and left 6 uncased and every one of the cased tubs performed like shit no top pins at all only side(I don't use liners). I guess it comes down to your opinion. I think you should do without until you get a little more experience. Then try casings and have an educated opinion on them instead of just blindly following others advice. Don't get me wrong I love this community but alot of people just regurgitate info that they know hardly anything about. Ahhh don't listen to me I'm drunk.

It certainly is less work! Thanks for the advice guys. I'll not case this first round and consider my options next time around.

Update:
Both tubs are looking good. I'm not sure how far out I am from fruiting but the difference between Tuesday and today is incredible. everything looks pretty good, but I think I might have a metabolite pool forming in this tub. I honestly think the only reason they aren't completely colonized is because I didn't level the substrate out very well. I think the areas that aren't colonized might be areas of thicker Coir mix.

12 more jars are ready to be spawned tomorrow and my plates are also good to go. I'll be busy over the next few days.
