yes, several times.

One of the scariest times was at my old meth dealers house, this guy came over and was high as a kite on ketamine, he pulled out a knife and told me and my ex to go into the bedroom, then barricaded us in there.  We heard a scuffle break out, 5 minutes later my dealer opened the door and said all was OK, he had been stabbed but not severe enough to merit going to the hospital.

I guess he really didn't pull it on us to harm us, just to intimidate us, he was more after my dealer, still scared the hell out of me though.

My dad threw potatoes at me once. Does that count? Also my sister beat me with a stick.
I've lived a very sheltered life, I guess.

When you deal with meth, heroin, cocaine you tend to run into a crazy geeked out user eventually, c'est la vie.

Glad I am not longer in that scene.

I was held at knifepoint at the gas station once

It was pretty fucked up, I was right by the door changing a trash bag and all of a sudden there's this dude in baggy clothes with a bandana over his face right there pointing a huge knife at my stomach and demanding the money

I thought it was a prank at first I kinda froze up

Then I realized it wasn't a prank and my blood ran cold

So he led me to the register I gave him what he wanted and he ran the fuck out of there

I was kinda traumatized by that incident but then my buddy smoked me up and I felt better

It was fucking scary though

I'm sure actually having a weapon pulled on you is a whole world of difference than picturing yourself in someone's shoes who has.

Hmm. . . Where to begin?

Well, once, I was goin' to pick up some pain pills for my grandma. I was gonna be the good grandson and surprise her with them.

We do the deal real quick and I get back to my car before I realized I had been ripped off. The dude had put blue marker dots all over some fuckin' Tylenol  So I run back up there to be like "Nah, man, fuck this" and the motherfucker pulled a shotgun on me.

I've also been robbed at gunpoint buying Synthnoids. I got stabbed in an incident involving some mushroom tea. My back windshield got shot one night (you'd think it'd shatter the whole thing, right? Nope.)

It's not an uncommon occurrence.

Yep, when I was around 10 or 12 or so.

I had this BB gun:

It's a little too realistic. At first glance there is NOTHING to distinguish it from being a BB gun short of the screw at the bottom for the CO2 cartridges (and that is kinda hidden when you're holding it). It is even life sized, and EVEN has a real slide.

So I'm out in my backyard shooting which I did all the time, and one of my neighbors calls the police telling them I'm shooting at my dog (which is total horseshit, he was easily one of the dogs I've loved the most out of all the ones I've had). So cops come out and walk around the side of the house to the gate and he spots me with this fucking hand cannon, pulls out his gun immediately and starts screaming at me to drop the gun. I was facing away from him, and he startled me, I just kinda froze trying to process it, and he kept screaming to drop the gun. I did eventually, once the initial shock wore off, but I still wasn't really sure what was going on. This all happened in about 15 seconds, for the record. My first instinct was to turn around and see what the fuck, but I didn't. The fear from the sudden outburst just kinda froze me. Glad it did. What do you think would've happened if I had the gun in my hand decided to turn around to see what the fuck was going on.

Before anyone asks how I know he drew his gun when I wasn't facing him, it's because after dropping the gun and putting my hands on my head, he told me to turn around and walk closer and I saw a gun pointed directly at me. Unusual to be told to face the cop, but I assume it's cuz there was a locked gate between us and he didn't want me to be able to quickly grab the gun back up while he jumped the fence.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way.
I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today.
Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear.
I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear.

I lived in South Africa for about 10 years... So just a few short stories that spring to mind.

On a Sunday morning a guy in a nightclub line shot a chick in the head right next to me. He then started pointing the gun at everyone else (including me), then he ran off. I left then quickly before the police came.

I was leaving a jam session and had my guitar in hand when this bloke walked up and grabbed the handle. He put his other hand in his pocket and told me to let go because he had a knife in his pocket and would stab me. I looked him hard in the eye and then smashed his face with a king hit head butt. He was laying on the ground with his hand in his pocket.

I was at another club that got raided by a drug squad. They fired stun grenades into the crowd to get everyone's attention. Everyone just dumped all their drugs on to floor... So many drugs. Cops were heavily armoured and armed with assault rifles. Hyper fucking aggressive...  Lined us up and searched us all one by one. Major fucked night, I was so happy to get away.

Fucking crazy shit over there.

So, a day me stash goes up, a thought friend, more of runner middle man, calls me up and is down stairs san5s to talk. I go down stairs and bring fella up to me room. I thought he may have score and was looking to drop bit onto me. We enter room, I sit on me organ bench facing fella.  He pulls out a knife a hold directly onto me throught.  I immediately thought, "you little fuck".  He demands my stash.  I respond, with hardly a thought as to what to say, "I don't keep my stash in my room.  Is in friend's room down the hall."  He believes my bullshit lie and tries to play it off as a prank.  Yea yea.  The stash was seven feet behind him behind the record player in corner of room.

This same kid ran off with a little bit of me goods once, took shot in his hip and got a huge grapefruit like whatcha ma call it on hip at spot of shot.  Funny?  I think I not laugh.  A bummer for kid for sure.

I got robbed at gunpoint walking home one fine evening. By a kid that looked 15 max.
My neighborhood was actually pretty safe all things considered, but we had a bad problem with armed robbery.

Was on a late night shroomy walk with a good friend. 'Oh hey, the door on the school is unlocked, what luck.' We went exploring inside the school, checked out the chemistry stuff, went on the roof for a bit. Totally non malicious, simply enjoying the thrill of infiltrating somewhere you're not supposed to.

Then we're turning for the exit and all of a sudden one of the local cops is there with his gun aimed at me, yelling about hands up or getting down or something like that. Even in a situation where you know you won't likely be shot, it's quite scary.

He'd seen us during our brief visit to the roof. so close.

thankfully this was after the shrooms had pretty much worn off. An afterglow walk.

Me and a buddy were out drinking one night and we got into an argument so he pulls his gun and puts it to my forehead. The whole time I'm screaming at him to pull the fucking trigger you'd be doing me a favor. Three of our friends broke it up two of them snatched him and dragged him outside and the third grabbed me and pinned me to a wall.

Yes.  Oddly enough, when speaking aloud to strangers I to get asked where the accent is from. The voice in flux much of all times.

Seriously?  Prim and proper, the only way to speak the English language. ?

I had a gun held directly to my head...about 2 or 3 inches away. Damn cops.

also had a few knives drawn on me by some scumbags.

I was parking behind my apt in west LA about 20 years ago and noticed an odd mustang in the alley. Perhaps my guard went up very slightly. As I was walking to the apt a guy walks toward me and says  "freeze". The adrenaline dump is like no drug I have ever experienced. The single highest sensation moment of my life. (And I'm writing on a drug board). There was a conveniently placed concrete wall to my right so my animal brain said run. In a fraction of a second my brain processed he is high, he can't shoot for shit, you are a moving target, and way faster than his sorry ass. The cops chased this group around LA all night.  Caught them about 3 mo later. I was able to Id the car but not the perp. Detective said it didn't matter they had 3 strikes on him anyway.  Took months to calm down. To this day at almost 50 I make damn sure I'm faster than 98% of my fellow (sometimes) domesticated primates.

once, by some og gangster, was chillin with some homies one day who were also from the same gang as the og gangster, this dude shows up in the night, walks towards us, and i immediately knew something was wrong, pulls out a hand cannon, .45 smith wesson, and gets right in my face, talking about "which one!?", referring to the two homies i was chillin with, basically trying to make me choose one so he could shoot, i told him i didnt know what he was talking about, he starts trippin out even more, cocks the gap "choose one!", i kept telling him i didnt know what he was talking about, at this point i seriously thought i was about to get shot, thinking oh man this is gonna hurt. suddenly someone who lived in the household shows up with her baby, dude hides the gun, she's like "is everything ok?", we're all like yea, and the dude just walks away. saved by the bell.

i find out later that the same dude got killed just a couple blocks away, someone caught him late at night while he was skateboarding home and shot him a couple of times, apparently he was screaming for help, talking about "im dying!", i was also told that the cops blocked the way while he was still on the ground and wouldnt let anyone through to help him or some shit, they wanted him to die. and apparently they were also dicks to his relatives who showed up a while later. i mean this was a close nit community, sheriff station was just down the street and they constantly patrolled the streets, they knew who all the trouble makers were, and these cops were known to be very brutal towards gang members.

but yea, i hung out with the guy a couple of times, he seemed like a cool dude, but def had that killer vibe.

I've been shot at numerous times.I'll tell you guys One time. Friday the 13th 1996 I was on acid (black pyramid geltabs) along with my younger brother a friend (R.I.P.) and two girls from some other town. We were tripping at a friends house who lived across enemy lines. And we decided to go for a walk to my house to get some more weed.
We were trying to explain to these girls that we were walking into enemy territory (my whole town was a danger zone in the 90s)  and that if we say run then they had better run . they didn't believe us they thought we were fucking with them cause we were all frying balls. And sure enough three guys spot us walking and start asking us who we were from across the street and my friend yells out his name. And they asked "who?" so he yells out his name again and hood which makes them run away .
We all laughed and reminded the girls again.
We finally made it to my street. Half way down something told me to turn around and when I did I just saw a bunch of silhouettes running and on bikes going down my street toward us we didn't even have a chance to say run they started shooting at us. it was all slow motion I saw explosions erupting from the silhouettes and heard bullets whizzing past my head. I felt like I was in a shadow western. we started running and I was running so fast that I felt like I was flying . it actually felt good despite the circumstance.
We made it through some alleys and finally in my backyard. Trying to get our breath back and comprehend wtf just happened we realized the girls were not with us. We were like fuck we gotta go back and look for them so we went back out there looking for them and they popped out of someone's backyard scared as shit but everybody was ok . went back inside turned on the TV and every station was showing the same thing tupac was dead. that was weird.

Some facts were omitted to protect the innocent.

16 cops swooping in on the car me and my friend were in. Not sure if all 16 had all of their guns drawn but I know at least the 3 that got out of the GMC Astro Van they were in that cut us off pointed their shit directly at my face. Not fun.  Caught a charge for some green when in 2 months from that date that amount would of been a fineable offence...

They were planning to take his door down that day but he ran out to meet me and they followed and pounced...then took him back to his place to lock up his girlfriend, ransack his shit and smash his bong.

well, i dont really like sharing that kind of info, but i will say that it's in the middle of the san Gabriel valley, one of the smaller cities.

funny thing, im currently reading a book called "black hand", it's a biography about a mexican mafia boss who to quit the organization and ratted out a bunch of his associates, and gave away all the secrets of the organization, well he mentions my city several times in his book, his dad lives there n shit, so that means there must still be many active la eme members there.

figures cuz the city is gang infested, yet u never really see it, it's like hidden, or like once u get involved it suddenly appears. it has gotten very organized in the last few years. for example, like a year ago or sumthing they busted a meth distribution center right nexxt to the city hall, it was disguised as a legit tax business, and they also used it to launder money. i passed through it every day cuz i lived on the same street, never noticed a thing. yet the sheriffs were able to keep it secret from the press when it got raided. it never went public, only the locals knew about it, mostly from the underground scene.

yea man, shit is a trip, it appears as if it is a nice peaceful neighborhood for the most part, but within it is all kinds of fucked up shit that went on and still goes. i still luv my city tho, been here for most of my life..

When I was like 10-12, some older guy stole a box of cookie dough I had. It was like 40 dollars of cookie dough from some school fundraiser. I chased after him, and he pulled a knife and cut my arm. Then the guy ran into open traffic and I just gave up the chase. It wasn't bad, but still  But I mean who steals cookie dough?

My sister's baby daddy got shot 3 times. Some guy stole my sisters car, and he knew who did it. But there was no proof and the cops didn't believe him. So he ended up beating up that guy.

The guy was pissed off, so he got a gun. He pulled the gun on him and threatened to shoot him if he didn't beg. So he(and I shit you not) starts punching the guy who has the gun pulled on him. He get's shot 3 times in the abdomen. The guy who shot ended up getting caught, and he actually got beaten pretty badly when he pulled the gun.

But my sister's baby daddy almost died  He's all fine now though.

Been shot at several times, but always from a distance.

I did have the same sawn off shotgun pointed in my face twice in two days. Both times I talked shit to the guy and he backed down. I started packing for awhile after that, but I never saw him again.

that is an intense level of pride and/or bravery. punching a guy who's got you at gunpoint...sounds like he could have gotten the drop on him and grabbed the hand holding the gun instead of punching him anyway

Stupid. I don't mean it as an insult, and maybe it just hits too close to home, but that's basically why my brother is dead. Some stupid gang banger who thought he was hard pulled a gun on my brother, and it wasn't the first time he'd had one pulled on him. He always had the same response "you better pull the fucking trigger if you're going to pull a gun on me". First dude didn't, and he got royally fucked up. Next one did. Shotgun straight to the chest, just because my brother wanted to be stupid and act tough (well it wasn't really an act, he really was, he never backed down from any fight no matter the odds).

It just makes no sense to me to go antagonizing someone who is pointing a gun at you. Act like a pussy and beat the shit out of him after he lowers the gun if you're worried about your image. There's no reason to go risking the pain of all that cared about you just to look tough. Maybe you won't give a shit what I say or it may piss you off, but maybe this will prevent someone else reading the thread from losing their life over nothing like my brother did.

When I was in my early twenties I was hanging out at a buddy of mines house.  Suddenly there is a knock on the door and there is a gun being pointed directly at my forehead.  He asks me some clich`e  shit about do you feel lucky punk, and I throw his arm away thinking it was a bb gun, it wasn't.  Not only that  but my buddy at the time told me it was a real gun, it was.  Right after that he says that it was no big deal because he took the clip out.

But then he realizes there was one in the chamber the whole time.

I've never hung out with this little shit since then.

Last year I was selling an lid to these three kids and all three pulled pistols on me. I got in the back and after talking to them a few minutes the one sitting in the back next to me puts a pistol against my temple and said something like "you ever had a gun on your head before" I look up and the two in the front are pointing pistols in my face.

At this point I grab the pistol against my temple and just point it down on the floor while the kid is hitting me and trying to get it back. Ended up losing the zip to them but I threw his pistol out of the car and run through the parking lot. I go back later and it ended up being a fucking airsoft gun but I don't know if the other guys had real ones or not. I'm guessing they did cause I heard they're known for robbing people.

Mod edit: no racism in the pub.

Elaborate, please. How was I dumb? By shooting a BB gun on my own pretty in my own back yard no less and got a bogus call on me. cop saw it and it was no longer a simple incident. To him the gun as real.

Am I dumb for picking a sytle of gun I likd? Am dumb for piking a spot whee it as legal to shoot and minimized any repercussion to the neighbors.

What exactly makes me "dumb". Explain.

I was minding my own fucking buisness and not harming anyone harm to anything.

Also had to discredit you, but the "magazine" was fed by a spring clip that snapped into the top, it was not a pellet gun. It was a bb through and through. That might've changed in the coming 20 decades since I've owned it, but I kinda doubt it. It wasn't ever designed to fire BBs.

By by all means present your case. I'm curious what you have to say.

I had assault rifles pointed at me in 1994 during a marijuana grow op raid. We had a helicopter swoop in first and then at least 2 dozen county cop cars piled onto the property and down the highway. My adrenaline was on overdrive yelling at the assholes, so the guns didn't phase me until I thought about it later. They said in the report that I acted extremely "militant". I was a split second decision away from having my shit splattered all over the ground and yet it didn't outwardly affect me at the time. It didn't go through my head that if I make one wrong move I was dead. I wasn't resisting but was being very vocal. I had a sawed off .22 made into a pirate gun and they were taking it very seriously. That gun was the last thing on my mind when they were raiding us. It would have been so easy to toss it in the river as they approached.

A young kid who was raised in a crazy criminal  gang family pulled a knife out and like stabbed it in front of my face a bunch of times to scare me. Not cool.

Another time a dude chopped my head off with a sword.

One of these stories is not true.

We were having a party at a friend's place. This was back when I was in high school. Loud as fuck and lots and lots of fucking people. Cops pulled up in droves, and I had bud on me. So I took off.

I jumped a neighbor's fence, and was running across his backyard. This was late at night, and little did I know said neighbor was sitting on his back porch smoking a cigarette. With a gun on him. Right before I started scaling his fence to get to the next yard -- dude put a gun on me and threatened to blow my fucking head off. I put my hands up and was like, "Dude I'm just trying to get away from the cops, go look out front and down the street and you'll see em', don't shoot me bro".

His reply was, "Oh okay cool, I hate the fucking cops, just chill back here with me until they leave if you want".

I took him up on his offer. And while we were back there on his porch he told me that I was lucky, and that he was this close (holding his fingers a millimeter apart from each other) to shooting me on site because he had a break-in recently. And then he offered me a beer.

I've had a gun pulled on me once, but it was a pretty embarrassing story that doesn't reflect well on my judgment. Needless to say I froze the fuck up when it happened and it was pretty traumatizing, but I got over it pretty quickly. Decided I'm probably going to get a handgun once I can legally purchase one. I've also never left home without my switchblade since.

Never had one pulled on me directly but a year ago my house got shot up.

All on my side of the house where i sleep.  A wooden closet door blocked the shots from coming into my bedroom, .40 cal too.  Probably would of struck my girlfriend and I both.  It was pretty shocking, I think I know who did it but can't prove anything.

The cops tossed it up as a random shooting but thats a load of shit and lazy police work.  If you could see where I live there is nothing that would make it random.  I live so far and the only thing random is where I live.  You'd have to know exactly where you're going

so intimidating to fight someone who really knows how to use a knife.

There was this one guy at the boffer field. I'd be fighting him with a full length sword, but he would just twirl his dagger around in such a way that it was always "cutting" my fingers.

Seemed like a magic maneuver to me. I couldn't touch him no matter what I did. Obviously boffer isn't real combat but you could tell he didn't learn that on the boffer field..

I had about 8 sheriffs drag me out of my mom's house at gunpoint while i was making some tea.  Seems one of the neighbors called it in and said there was a burgler or some such.

A guy in mexico attacked me with a baseball bat while i was sleeping in my truck once.  I got pretty busted up, but i feel like i "won" that encounter because
a. i'm alive.
b. i fought with the guy when i wasn't even really conscious, and he's the one who went fleeing down the beach. (though i was the one covered in my own blood and with loose teeth and shit)

A punk threatened me with his studded belt once, but i don't think that counts.

I have two of the exact same pellet guns.It sounds dumb if you

My keyboard on my phone broke halfway through typing that.

i was going to say it sounds dumb if you haven't actuallyy held one of them, most people assume bb guns are noticeably different. sorry my phone turned into a potato on you, really didn't mean to offend.

Also your right it's bb only, i just dug mine out of the garage and saw it for first time in three years

i've had a couple pointed at me. first time i was 14 years old and it was some local gang bangers out trying to scare kids. another time it happened while i was in traffic. not even sure what i did wrong.

i've also had a couple fired in my general direction. this happened at raves back in the 90's. and i'm not talking about the kind you buy tickets to. the parties amounted to a lot of disputed drug territory and therefore a lot of weapons. one time i was waiting in line at a warehouse and a group of asians were turned away at the door. a fight ensued, they got the shit kicked out of them, and then proceeded to open fire on the whole line with some type of automatic weapon as they drove off. i have no idea how anyone was not hurt that time; they were aiming at us. another time some brawl broke out for some reason at an upper level venue in a shopping center that was a record store. it moved out to the parking lot and shots were fired, some of which went back up to towards the venue where my friends and i were standing (we weren't involved).

my friend and i were tripping balls on mushrooms and ecstasy looking down at the melee in the parking lot. when the bullets started flying, my friend looks at me and calmly says "millzy, they're shooting at us,". i look at him, straight faced, and say "dude....don't be a pussy," as we were kneeling to take cover.

Right when I read the first line of this as you said "Friday the 13th 1996" I was like "oh shit that's the day tupac died"..

I say lid and I'm under 30 but my cousins are 50+ and i live in cali. We say "hella whack ass shit like lids and gnarly" and SAB means still-air-box and smoke a blunt.

Pertaining to the OP. I have had a cop point one at me when i got arrested as a teen, my friends house got shot up twice while i was there, i had knife pulled on me when i was young maybe 12, my house was almost home invaded twice as a kid but my sister and i had a 12ga and .22 ruger, and when i used to sell bud i would have people show me their guns to try and intimidate me but i always had my .223 with two 30-round bananer clips just in case.:sniper::lol:

Living in a poor, gang saturated, drug fueled area has it's downsides but I normally never feared for my life too badly. You don't even realize how dangerous it is until your family from out of town visits or you do get shot

One time in the 90's I was in a train station toilet and this guy walks up to me and says "Do you want AIDS?" I was like "what?" and then he pulled a needle out of his pocket. He didn't get a chance to get the lid off it, I severely fucked him up. Well there was no way out, he was between me and the door. Fucking terrified me, I trembled for hours. Crazy fucking junkies.

I don't know what was so scary about that compared to other even more hectic shit I've experienced, it just ticked all the boxes at the time.

remembering this stuff that happened to me and then thinking of the school shooting debate from the other day is kind of amusing. i recall being basically labeled as a whiny liberal coward because i'm against concealed/open carry on campuses. at the time i didn't really feel like backing my claims with my teenage war stories.

Hmm. .

How'd the mushroom tea thing go down? If you don't mind me asking? Trippin with a wack job?

Me and some buddies set up a shroom tea stand at a party one night. Long story short, the dude wanted some more tea but couldn't afford it. So I wound up with a knife in the thigh.

Lived in South Central as a child, the apartments I lived in got shot up a few times.
Agreed to fight some kid, he got pissed I was using kicks and pulled a knife. Shit was being recorded so he put it away; then he broke his hand and started whining like a bitch. (I really should have completely fucked him up at that point, but I was doing it for fun.)
Maybe I was tripping, (I don't remember dosing,) I do remember getting naked and wandering the woods- wound up in a field. Some farmer decked me then pulled a gun. I told him to shoot me. He didn't =[
A couple of tweakers asked to bum a smoke from my bro as we were walking back from a store. Uh no. Insert shit talking between them. One pulls a knife. One of my dudes got stabbed because he thought it was a good idea to pick up a rock to fight them off when we were half a block from home.

I was walking through Eforest 2013.  It was late saturday night and my wallet had been stolen and some wook bitch pretended to get raped.....that story is irrelevant other than I was already worn for the worse.

I walked next to 3 cops in uniform and one stops and screams at me "ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID?!?!??! YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!"

Draws his gun and points it at me

Starts screaming "THIS MAN JUST TRIED ATTACKING ME, HE REACHED FOR MY GUN AFTER ASSAULTING AN OFFICER!!!!!!!!"

The other two cops form a triangle around me the other two about to draw their guns...

I was so fucking high.....shaking scared at this point....saw my life flash before my eyes for real....I'm a 6 time felon, on drugs, with drugs on me.....the cop would justify it in every way shape and form.....

So I locked eyes with him and as firmly and deep as I could stare into them I said "I am a human, and you are a human, you know damn fucking well I didn't lay a finger on you or touch your gun, what you are doing right now is beyond fucked up and you fucking know it."

He lowered his gun and told his cronies to back off and said "Get the fuck out of my face"

I left the festival as soon as I sobered up.  Haven't gone to another big show since.  D_C and his mom were in fucking shock.....they didn't even have time to pull their phones out to video tape....no one did......I really thought I was going to be a casuality for a good 2 minutes, but it seemed like eternity.

My younger bro has also pulled a pistol on me twice.

He was fucking with me by drawing his gun and pointing it at me and screaming assault?

I bet all the other people who get shot by cops for no reason were laughing hysterically on their way out.

I didn't say anything about my "bros"  My younger brother.  How dare I abbreviate anything. And cronies is a word.  And wooks are typically under bathed, crusty, habitual lot liars always trying to middle man scam people.

Dude was fucking psychotic.  Skin head with a look of death in his eyes.

I watched a guy arguing with a stir fry stand owner at all good that same year.  The guy at the stand ushered the police over to help him.  4 cops came up on a golf cart, and the guy started arguing with him.  I heard a cop yell "ATTACK ON AN OFFICER" and all 4 of them jumped on this dude and kicked the living shit out of him at 3 in the morning.  Me and like 3 other people saw it.  They hog tied him, threw him on the back of the golf cart and left.

Same eforest I got the pistol pulled on me, there was a naked man frolicking down the path at like 2-3 pm in the afternoon.  The mounties on horses came up and told him he had to put on clothes.....he went on about being a free soul yadda yadda yadda.....so he mountie called the cops.....who came and asked him twice to get clothes....he said no both times so they pulled out tasers and dropped his ass, then strapped him to a surf board, and took him off on their golf cart.

I've seen some FUCKED UP shit at festivals.

Damn, that's fucked up. This is obviously on a much smaller scale, but that reminds me of how at Vibes this year some cops chased down some kids and accused them of "talking shit".

Ya. Anyone who says "Oh that cop was just fucking with you" is a fucking asshole.  Pulling a gun on someone is not funny in any way shape or form for one.  Two he's a fucking cop and is only supposed to draw his weapon when he needs it. 3 I did not fuck with him, so nothing warranted him pulling a piece on me. 4 that's the kind of joke that makes someone attack you based on fear, giving the cop a right to shoot me.

There was nothing funny about the situation. I bet the cop was laughing about it to the wife he cheats on all the time.....and to his closet homosexual son.....and his pregnant 14 year old daughter.....but that's called being a fucking psychopath and abusing power.

I've had a gun pulled on me twice.  It's only scary the first time.  I don't know if that's fucked up to say or not.
The first time was a straight up jack move on me for like 2oz of weed something like five, six, seven years ago hell I don't even remember.  But it does change you in many ways when you realize how real shit can get.
The second time was maybe 3-4 years ago and I remember more clearly.  I'd smoked my last bowl that morning and that night my friend and I were at my place and wanted to get some weed, we called up everyone and finally the last person on his list was the only one who could meet up.  We show up at his place, and he flips shit that I was with my friend even though he told him both of us were coming.  Before I can even apologize and excuse myself, some other dude in a yellow shirt comes out the door with a revolver and points it at us and tells us to GTFO of there before he shoots us.  Put my hands up and walked away without saying a word, totally confused as to why these dudes were flipping shit for like literally NO REASON.  We were there to buy an 1/8th of weed for like $50 and they practically opened the door with a gun aimed at us.  How dumb.
Now, I had a pistol in the car but I had no intention of using it on this stupid shit, but when I got back to the car in the parking lot my friend and I are standing there for a second trying to figure out what just happened.  I did, just in case, put my gun on the driver seat cause who knows WTF can happen when these dudes are acting so sketchy.  Before like even a full minute goes by, this yellow shirt motherfucker is coming towards us with the gun still raving like a lunatic telling us to leave.  I decided that me going there to buy any amount of drugs and then ending up in a gunfight equals jail no matter what happens so I decide to just cool and calm get in my car and go.  And so as I'm driving away he's got the gun pointed at the windshield, then he puts it down and starts writing down my license plate number.  I'm like WTFever this isn't worth it for an 1/8th of weed so I left, confused and mad.

Never had a gun pulled on me

I can only assume it's for three basic reasons:

1.  I don't associate with sketchy and scummy people
2.  It must be way easier to get hand guns in the states.
3. I don't live in America.

never had one drawn on me and threatened with it but i have got knocked senseless with the butt of a .45 at a party after a fight got broke up.

most people down here carry guns everywhere they go.  most people would be surprised to know that at least 49 out of 50 guns seen in public are those pulled by LEOs at traffic or street stops

This, Its nice to live in a safe country where people have the common decency to realise that human lives are more important than "liking guns cause there cool"

We still have guns. But they are hard to get and restricted and guess what we have never had a mass shooting since we did this, yet anyone who wants to own a gun still can.

restricting guns is silly.  it just makes it way, way profitable in the black market and that much more in demand.  its not about liking guns because they are cool there is nothing cool about pressed metal that has the ability to kill someone before they hear the blast.  its about being prepared and ready to do what is necessary to protect yourself and your own.

Not really having a problem with Wolves up here.  I think that's a lullaby pro gunners tell themselves to make them feel better about their desire to own guns

Well we are having trouble with Wolves, but real ones  :smirk:

I used the  icon for a reason though hehe. Humoured to see where this thread goes now

In all these threads about gun control, same rants from both sides.

"Look at Chicago"
"Look at Switzerland"

Always some example, some stat...same old posturing

My mind is made up.  America is fucked at this point.  You take away the guns, like completely, burn them all....the mentality can't be burnt Tho and more guns will get smuggled in.  So in Americas case, it's going to burn itself to the ground, guns illegal or not.  I don't think it makes a difference at this point.  60 years ago...they should have adopted Canada's stance on guns and maybe they would have had a chance

You tell yourself that. American is in love with guns. You cant deny that.

Dont use the protection argument. Its either out of reach and useless or its out in the open and becomes a danger to your family and yourself which you are much more likely to use it against.

Science has proven protection isnt an argument so plz no.

Yeah but what about Switzerland?  Everyone, even children, handles and owns guns of all sorts without a hitch?

And what about Chicago?  Tightest gun laws in the country and highest gun crime?

:smilingpuppy:

switzerland is a whole different ball game. Handguns and carrying are still quite restricted (These two issues cause most of gun crime). They also enact what the 2nd amendment TRULY meant which is an armed militia not personal use. There ownership is about military use and almost all of their ammo is kept in community armourys and they dont just carry around rifles for "protection" and the average citizen cant carry around handguns.

Chicago is still america and still has stupidly relaxed laws compared to any other modern country.

I think puberty was when we burnt down your White House :smirk:

That's a pretty weak argument why Canada is a lot less violent per capita though

I think everyone who wants one should own a rifle or shotgun but handguns should be highly restricted and really only police should have them.

I own a rifle and a shotgun and will do pistol training and get a pistol someday. In Canada it's much harder to get guns generally and handguns in particular and very few people own guns . You are never allowed to carry a pistol even if you are licenced to have one, except to the range and back.

And your gun needs to be In a locked case, behind a locked door, and ammo locked up in a seperate case.

And yes I do want to own a pistol even though I think sensible national
Policy would only allow civilians to own long guns.

What upsets me the most is that my province prohibits us from owning body armour or bullet proof vests. I think it's unethical to ban people from owning something strictly defensive that can't hurt anyone can could save your life.

But I do understand why- they want to be able and shoot and kill you if they want to so they don't want you to have armour.

I also keep knives, pepper spray, baseball bat and swords hidden around my home and car and person because in a home invasion or assault I would never have time to unlock and load my guns.

I own firearms because I think there is a high possibility of a massive social and civilizational collapse and/or a global catastrophe .

I foresee a possible time in the relatively near future when there might be a desperate
Life and death struggle for basic necessities like food, water and fuel. And in order to protect my wife, myself , my home and supplies I need weapons and lots of ammo.

Fortunately in Canada there are far fewer guns , in America it will be very hard even for the well armed
To survive because of how many other people will have powerful guns. Post apocalyptic America will be a mind blowing thing, with more guns then people in that nation.

I need to buy a third gun and far more ammo asap. I want a pistol but my ideal weapon will be a semi automatic shotgun because I am no marksman.

I like guns too.

I don't want to have the RPAL though.  It gives the police the right to excute a search on your home, without a warrant, anytime they want.  Just so I can have a hand gun that can only be transported to a range?  No thanks

I love the defender though. . Good accessory to ward of charging Grizzlies when I'm hiking

I was selling a 1/2 lb pot to some one I knew, his tweaker friend robbed me.
Both ended up in jail not long after that for things unrelated to me.

I never carried a gun when I dealt, even meth.
I did keep 2 at home, though.:smirk:
I was only robbed that one time.

Ten Myths About Gun Control

Al Smithies, Research Director, CSSA
1. VERY FEW PEOPLE IN CANADA OWN FIREARMS

Exactly the opposite is true: twenty-nine per cent of Canadian homes possess an estimated total of nine million firearms. Other authorities insist that even this figure is too low, and that there is at least twenty million firearms in Canada. The UN reported that Canada ranks third among the developed western countries (behind the United States and Norway) in the civilian ownership of firearms.

There is an average of three firearms in every gun-owning Canadian household. The majority of gun-owning households in Canada own rifles and/or shotguns; on a per capita basis, Canadians own nearly as many rifles as Americans.

Canadian firearm owners tend to be predominantly male, slightly older than average but with a higher than average income. Wildlife hunters are more likely to be blue collar workers or farmers, while handgun owners tend to be white collar professionals.

Canadians own firearms for target shooting, gun collecting and wildlife hunting; socially innocuous sport and recreational pursuits that generate substantial economic benefits. Canadian target shooters spend at least forty to one hundred million dollars annually on competition-related tourism. Wildlife hunting, the overwhelming majority of which involves firearms, contributes six billion dollars and thirty-three thousand jobs to the Canadian economy every year. It is a recreational activity practised by over 20% of Canadians (excluding aboriginal Canadians)

More or less this. I have seen someone get shot though (sawed-off shotgun.) Without going into too much identifying detail, it was nobody I knew and it happened in a crowded public place.

This, Its nice to live in a safe country where people have the common decency to realise that human lives are more important than "liking guns cause there cool"

We still have guns. But they are hard to get and restricted and guess what we have never had a mass shooting since we did this, yet anyone who wants to own a gun still can.

You might not have the gun issues in Australia, but i would rather deal with people trying to kill me than every living thing in nature trying to. I would rather deal with american cops than australian spiders any day.

switzerland is a whole different ball game.

Chicago is still america and still has stupidly relaxed laws compared to any other modern country.

do you know what a militia is?

let's start with the definition

mi·li·tia
məˈliSHə/
noun
noun: militia; plural noun: militias

a military force that is raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency.
a military force that engages in rebel or terrorist activities, typically in opposition to a regular army.
all able-bodied civilians eligible by law for military service.

We should totally have a badass militia.
BUT. Personal ownership also should not be restricted. A good portion of our shootings (not counting gang violence) occur in gun free zones (universities, movie theaters, etc.). Duh.
Where there is zero possibility of being pwnd by a good citizen who can legally wield, there are only targets. Taking legal guns only leaves illegal guns, and anyone who's trying to shoot a place up doesn't mind illegal guns.

But, relevant to the OP, yea. One time I was driving through campus, and some idiot on a bike rolls up to my window and points a gun at me. I swerved towards him & sped away haha

It'd be hard to have a personal militia without attracting the hyper passive-aggressive gun nuts that always end up carrying rifles into the court house blabbing red faced about the 2nd amendment.

What's this picture all about then:

I've heard its mandatory in switzerland that all men recieve military training when they turn 18, when you graduate they give you your own rifle and you can choose to give it back if you disagree with the concept of firearms. I think this has to be one of the smartest ways of approaching gun ownership I've ever heard a country take.

restricting guns is silly.  it just makes it way, way profitable in the black market and that much more in demand.  its not about liking guns because they are cool there is nothing cool about pressed metal that has the ability to kill someone before they hear the blast.  its about being prepared and ready to do what is necessary to protect yourself and your own.

a nation full of sheep makes it very easy for the wolves to eat

You tell yourself that. American is in love with guns. You cant deny that.

Dont use the protection argument. Its either out of reach and useless or its out in the open and becomes a danger to your family and yourself which you are much more likely to use it against.

Science has proven protection isnt an argument so plz no.

oh yes i am in love with guns.  i love shooting them, stripping and cleaning them, having them, hunting with them.. the whole nine yards.

what I do not like is the fact that people with much less sense than I do can and very, very often do acquire them and do asshattedly idiotic things with them like shoot up a campus full of unarmed, slightly soft young adults.  if more americans yielded guns in a safe way and knew how to use them when fire actually broke out we would be much much more safe than we are now.

i'll tell you what.  the day the anyone tries to take my guns away will be after a hefty gunfight that that leaves me dead.  even then you will have to pry my stiff fingers free to get em.

guns are here, they aren't going anywhere, and if we make it that much harder for the general, law abiding public to acquire them them ore danger we will be in.

just because WE, the average, law-abiding citizen can't get them, doesn't mean that Jose the gangbanger next door doesn't have an arsenal big enough to arm a militia.

quit living in a dream world.  Earth is not peaceful.  generally, humans do not love or respect each other.  as a whole we want to conquer and take, and if need be leave a river of blood in the wake.

I always loved gun and war talks here.  I think all the acid and shrooms instilled a sense of false security and safety to some people.

keep being a sheep.  when a pack of wolves show up in your neighborhood you will mince up quite nicely for their stew.

harsh words?  hey, thats a little TRUTH for you.

just go to Liveleak and watch some of the videos on the Syria channel.  you will learn very quickly what happens when a pack of rabid dogs get a hold of real firepower.

Thank you for speaking my thoughts. It's kinda disturbing that the instant the term weapon comes up the majority of people's first thought is gun. Anything can be a weapon, this thread really has nothing to do with gun control, and everything to do with risky situations. If i wanted to talk about guns the thread would be "ever had a gun pulled on you?" I titled it how i did for a reason.
