I bought a smaller tub

So I've moved to smaller 55ish qt tubs lately. How do y'all do your holes for these?
I use a tomato can to burn my holes and on this smaller tub I feel like the whole thing is just gonna be holes lol.
I almost feel like I'd be better off with a hole loosely stuffed on each end and that's it.
I know monos and the thermodynamics that make them work but is 6 holes in a 55qt really necessary?

I have 6 1-1/4" holes in my 54qt tub. And still have slightly fuzzy feet on a couple pins...

Technically you don't need any holes.... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22337800#22337800
But I would use 6 holes if I were you.

I put 4 1/2 inch holes in tubs that size. One on each side.

Would I be better off just making it a hybrid and drilling a few small holes and leaving them open?

Having used 27qt MSG's, I feel I can speculate that the evaporation rate would be stupid high if you tried it on a 55qt without reducing the hole count from the 2" grid.
I use 6 holes on 30qt mini monos, and so does pasty in his extremely dry house. For a 56qt you will definitely want 6 holes. The base is maybe 10% smaller than a 66qt. Most of the difference comes from height if I recall.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

I use 58qt tubs with 6 1 1/2 holes and they work great I normally remove my top poly after pins have formed or they seem to get fuzzy. OP are you using a full size tomato can or thr smaller tomato paste cans to melt your holes? Seems to me a standard can may be a bit too big?

i like six 1 1/8" inch holes in mine as per trancending life's one flush wonder tek, works perfectly. a hole saw is your best bet, they screw into a drill and make perfect holes in seconds, i like to trim any extra burrs off with an xacto knife

One of those tiny diameter cans. It's almost exactly 2"
I made one with 6 holes the "normal" way. I'll see how this one does and I'll build the other one based off of that
