I visited a few places in the east bay that were fruiting this time last year , but no signs of pins although the location is pretty. Those psilocybe cyanescen pins i posted last week dried out and new ones are growing , but I'm not sure if they're going to make it.mi found a bunch of new "potential" spots or atleast spots I want to dump spawn. I want to dump woodchips at a few places too because the spots are looking hungry
Tomorow ,I'm going to get lost in a new city. Not sure where though.
I think my patch at home is showing signs of primodia although I'm not sure.. Ill edit later and update with pictures.
Good shit David, its nice your helping the mushrooms stay alive , I never have enough water with me , jus a few bottles that I need for me to stay alive.

Me too. But I keep empty gallon bottles in my car and I used the neighboring business's faucet, lol.

Bummer guys. Normally my little pots and spots in Santa Cruz county would have been fruiting a month ago already. This year? Nothing. Nada. There's still some healthy myc in spots but no fruit.

I wondered about your early allenii. Things are getting off to a late start, and some patches may not fruit soon because of reduced irrigation. But don't be too bummed out. By far the most abundant Bay area mushroom season in the past twenty years was '97-'98 when El Nino came. Guess what's coming this year.

Seems like mostly a rich golfing community...which could be good as they're likely gaffing off the drought measures.

Yeah I live around a bunch of golf courses and it's quite apparent that they don't think the drought should change anything about their lifestyles. I've been hesitant to go out looking in those areas because they seem to be really uptight about people wandering around who arent either golfing or landscaping.

I guess if I threw on a polo I might be passable but I think the long hair and beat up Honda might give me away

WTF...will the coincidences ever stop? Not only did I live in Monterey, but when I was there I had long hair and drove a beat up Honda. Lol, lemme guess, you also happen to frequent the Vietnamese noodle bar by Sand City.

Is it really a coincidence if those things are practically requirements of living there? jk

Ahh I do not but I think I have heard about it. I'll have to go out there and take a look.

Out here it's either a beat up Honda and long hair, or a BMW and a club membership

Actually you might be right. As soon as I moved away from there I found myself with short hair and driving a new Fiat.

These are what I believe to be pins from a cultivated patch, taken on November 3rd and since then, ive been gone , here in the bay area. At dusk I stumbled upon some pins along with tons of mycena at a known patch I take pictures of.. Just not until morning when its light outside, I cant rely on the flash

From a few moments ago. I almost wish this patch wasn't fruiting yet...it's bringing me a bit of stress. Still sending up brand new pins too! Had to clip a few more.
