The most obvious thing is that the stem color is different.

Yes, or more brownish.
Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata has white stems, like the cyanescens group.

Wait...I meant the orange/brownish on the ovoid. As in the photos of the mushroom that I posted on Sunday. Like this:

While mushroom hunting last week, I found an old abandoned building with a family of cats living by its entrance. It was nice to see that someone was apparently giving the cats food and water. But there was one sweet little cat who had a severe problem with her eye. Having had a cat in the past with a similar condition, I happen to know that the eyeball would eventually burst, and for a cat living as a stray this would probably spell doom. So my girlfriend and I caught her and took her to get her eye removed, and now she's gunna be a part of our family. She's been recuperating for two days.

Nice, JayZ...those pins look like they're faring well in this summertime weather. The sole cyan patch I've seen try to fruit so far this season, pics of which I posted last weekend, continued to try to fruit during the last week...as seen below.

I left 4 or 5 healthy youngsters, but I'm convinced that all the mushrooms from the spot so far are just early strays, a mini-flush so to speak. For this patch was an enormous producer last year. It's around 4 square feet, and well protected, and its first flush last season must have yielded at least 200 mature cyans. I had to remove 'em in three stages. Today I doused the patch with two gallons of water to help it get through this last day of heat.
