Who knows what the guy thought i was doing , i was just making an extreme assumption which I probually stand incorrect on because i was just joking about the up skirt thing.. Well ,you know , since upskirt photos are the worse thing a person can do besides planting a bomb in the garden. I'm just never sure what goes through a persons head especially when I'm trying to remain inconspicuous , which makes it worse because I should be confident in what I'm doing, not all secretive.
A good response to what are you doing is "minding my own business" what's your problem ?

Took some photos of my Psilocybe finds this morning as I ran some errands. I'm finding both allenii and cyans - which around here is not so common. Generally speaking, I seem to find only allenii this far inland. But so far it has been a good season for all sorts of mushrooms.

Lhun, WTF. I don't think I've ever found allenii quite that yellow...that pic with the cluster in your hand is awesome! So is that lone cyan...I'm wondering, is she single?

How far inland are ya?
Do cyans have a slightly narrower window of ideal habitat/growing conditions compared to allenii?.....

Thanks David - I've been enjoying your photos this year as well.

About 40 miles inland myself, and it sure seems that allenii have a broader range of ideal habitat. But I'm speaking only from personal experience.

I have definitely noticed that the allenii are much hardier and tend to put off a lot more and a lot larger fruits (inland).
Good to see ya around applesmasher!

Man these are some fucking weird looking P. allenii. They almost look like Hygrocybe. Do you have a microscope? Have you found them in this spot before?

Yep, I have known this spot for a couple years now. I am certain that they are allenii. I do have a scope, and could scope them - But I already know what I would find. That being said, it is quite a cluster is it?

The bruising is black, the gills are very light and the caps look super yellow. I don't think they are Hygrocybe, they just look really weird. The allenii I've found have always looked like this -

Sorry but I can't figure out how to resize this picture.

Here are a couple photos from last year in the same patch. They are pretty yellow as well. Patch genetics perhaps?

P. cyanescens. 12/11/15. East Bay. New finds Nos. 2 and 3.
1)
A dozen or so pins can be seen in the above pic. This is actually an unreported previous find, insofar as a couple weeks ago I found a little cluster of dried out pins at this exact spot. Do you see that sea shell at the upper left? My gf put that there at the time so I'd be able to find the patch again...but the new pins seen above expand way out from the seat of the original cluster. This general location, which is a vast condominium complex, is the same location where I found three patches of allenii and one of cyans on an occasion a few weeks ago. I have an inkling that once we get enough moisture, the whole place'll become fuckin' Psilocybe World.
2)
This tiny fruiting I found completely at the other end of the same complex...different woodchips even. I was in fact taking a gander at a patch of Coprinellus or something when I spotted these isolated little cuties. The second pic shows the whole scene...the cyans are all the way to the right.

TODAY'S VISITS TO KNOWN SPOTS IN THE EAST BAY:
1)
P. allenii at the teenager-frequented location. There was also an absolutely gorgeous cyan patch here last year...the type where over a hundred specimens shoot up all in the same 1/2 square foot, intertangling with each other in a most acrobatic manner.
2)
The infamous downtown cyan spot after a week of no irrigation or visits. As can be seen in the last two pics, the spot's still sending up new pins. Having irrigated it twice a day for weeks, I think I've created a monster!
3)
A single specimen of P. ovoideocystidiata found growing among otherwise barren woodchips. This is without a doubt the most perfect example of a mature fruit that I've found here...for there seems to be something about ovoids that really attracts munchin' by bugs.

Check out these crazy things, they remind me of P. cyanescens, but I cant get over the beautiful yellow stem and green gills.
