Don't feel too bad. From the way things appeared I'm pretty sure there hasn't been anything on campus until the last week or so. And whatever's there right now is a small, minor flushing. These next rains, however, should bring out some bigger and better stuff.
EDIT: Oh BTW, it looked like I wasn't the only one mushroom hunting on campus yesterday. Look at the scene I happened upon.

Probably the work of students as it was right by one of the biology buildings. I wish I caught 'em in the act...I would've given 'em that single specimen of allenii. I bet they would've like that!

Mycena purpureofusca due to the growth on conifer debris and red gill edges.

This little spot is starting to shape up nicely. Its been two weeks since it first started showing life. I have been keeping it covered and watering it daily.

FROM TODAY:
1)
P. allenii and cyanescens at a known East Bay spot found last season. This is my magical spot because when I found it last year there weren't any mushrooms at all, but I kept returning and returning as it seemed to epitomize the conditions of "irrigated woodchips"...it being watered every single morning. And low and behold, a few allenii popped up here and there, and then a little later a few cyans, and then as the season progressed up sprang bonafide patches of both species, until finally I found myself literally...surrounded...by the objects of my desire. A real Psilocybe haven.
2)
P. allenii at another spot found last season. This is an active section of the first "monster patch" I found last year, but unfortunately I had discovered it last year after most of the fruits were past their prime. As for this year, I actually checked the spot a few nights ago using my iPhone flashlight...but missed sight of these as they were covered up by the dry plant material seen at the top of the first pic. Thank goodness I stopped by today and took a really close look...a few more days would've ruined 'em and broken my heart into pieces.
3)
P. allenii at yet another spot found last season...very close in proximity to the last shown. The mushrooms that shoot outta this spot are super healthy and sturdy...perhaps because of the relatively new woodchips given them as food. What I should probably do at the end of this season is carry over a bunch of these uncolonized chips to the last shown spot...which seems quite in need in comparison. As I've said in the past, I wish someone experienced would write a detailed woodchip replenishment tek.

Whats the bay area's slug situation. Pnw is infested some years. not so bad others. Slugs are an indicator species to me. Cigam's bed made me think of this. Keeping leaves and debris cleaned up seems to help keep slugs at bay a little. If it's not your back yard then they need the leaves for cover in return inviting slugs. Was just wondering. Thanks

Damn, JayZ, did you get a new camera?...Some of them photos be super nice! And I'm also curious as to why you're letting 'em go until Monday. I can't stand it when allenii get really mature and go from that nice orange to a beige color.

@Ran-D The mushrooms are at a location about an hour from home - a location i visit daily that has dozens of passing people. I would have picked them yesterday but I wanted to let them grow to their fullest potential -whether they've become all sporulated or not.
Most of all, I didnt want anybody watching what I was doing. So Monday morning at sunrise would be ideal for me. If I get my schoolwork finished, there is a high possibility tomorow ill go to my friends house for a boxing match party and later in the day pick a few matures.
I feel out of pocket picking them at a place that's for sure to have atleast one person curious as to what kind of mushrooms I'm picking, so I'd rather take pictures and come back when the coast is clear. Even taking pictures is a little sketchy because this person was like is everything alright , what are you doing back there.., like Im some sort of creeper , taking up skirt photos or something?
I explained to the dude , no , im just taking photos of this spider. Usually I'd tell people in other places im photographing mushrooms because I doubt they'd care , but the people at my location might care a little more.
I've seen pictures of Allenii that were much larger than the ones in my photos. I just wanted to watch them mature , my home patch failed to fruit , but this one succeeded big time so I'm just taking alot of happiness in watching this one mature it I guess.
Usually I would've picked them by now but I felt these were special and I wanted to harvest them together.
@David, I appreciate the compliment on my photography , i picked up a Samsung DV151F and have it on a close range setting which seems to work fantastically for mushrooms. Before i used a relatives iphone. I have a feeling I can take better pictures when I'm not in a rush .which photographing is my primary focus of the patch, not really harvesting just yet. The patch is just growing so nicely.

The guy actually suggested you were taking up-skirt photos? I would've explained to him clearly, "No, dick face, mind your own business."
