Half my cakes aren't producing any fruits...

Hey everyone. I'm a long term lurker first time poster. A few weeks ago I bought a couple of spore syringes. One is golden teachers and the other mexican. I made the cakes from vermiculite and brown rice powder and inoculated them all at the same time. All the cakes colenized at around the same time and about a week and a half ago I moved them into two separate terrariums which are both next to each other in the same temp and in the same lighting and with extremely similar humidity (using the perlite method). My golden teachers are all growing great I've already picked a bunch but absolutely nothing is happening with the Mexicans. This is only my 3rd grow and I can't see what I'm doing wrong? Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do or if this is normal?

Could just be bunk spores. I had a PE syringe like that once. Wouldn't germ on anything.

Are you using a shotgun chamber and are you misting the cakes? Fanning fresh air at least twice a day? Did you dunk and roll the cakes? Any weird smells in the terrarium?

From how I understand his post the cakes are fully colonized and birthed, just not fruiting...

Yeah they are in a shotgun chamber and I'm fanning twice a day. I haven't misted the cakes at all though? Should I be doing that daily as well? No weird smells, and I usually do my first dunk and roll after picking for the first time.

Dude you need to mist 3-4 times a day and only fan after you mist! Fanning by itself is pointless.

Fanning by itself dries the cakes out. Personally if your fruiting chamber is getting good FAE I consider fanning to be pointless and often detrimental. Only fan after you mist.

Did anyone else's eye twitch when he said he hasn't misted at all? How long have they been in fruiting? Maybe op should consider doing another dunk..
OP. Mist directly from now on (and mist the perlite directly) to keep the cakes glistening. Might want to rewet your perlite too.

OP hasn't misted in a week and a half so I would probably do a dunk. Maybe a 12 hour dunk. Are the cakes bruised at all? Got pics?

Would also strongly recommend a dunk when you first birth your cakes from now on, followed by roll in verm
You will see a noticeable improvement in flushes

Shitttt the video I watched on YouTube had said misting wasn't nessisarry with with perlite. I'll dunk and roll my mexican cakes when I get home tonight and start misting my golden teachers since they seem to be doing well and I'll get some pictures up. Thanks for the advise guys!

Here are some pictures. The first two are of the Golden teachers which have started to grow somewhat and the third sadder photo is of the Mexicans.

That's not a sgfc. Quarter inch holes every 2 inches on all 6 sides. Including the bottom and the lid. Also dunk them, and roll them in dry verm.

I just started the dunk, I'll allow them to dunk overnight. Thanks for the reading and the help. I'll send some update photos when things start rolling.

Will they still fruit well with a dunk and roll after a week of being dry?

Its good practice to put some foil under your cakes so they don't colonize over the perlite or get too soggy. and throw some moar holes in those chambers too, definitely need more FAE.
keep at it though, not too shabby so far
