Any OS X users install it yet? I usually know better than to install a new version of OS X before 10.x.3, but I always have a bootable clone of my HDD scheduled nightly so may as well check this shit out, curious about performance gains and alleged increase in battery life for my 2014 rMBP.

I just installed it yesterday. Working fine for me and I have a pretty custom setup. I am a software engineer with local servers running. The OSX upgrade was smooth.

I've had a lot of problems with my 15" retina macbook pro, my last one was ivy and cost me over $3k and was in repair for 5 weeks for spontaneously hard freezing every few days, then they gave me a new 2014 one and it did good until the pci-e ssd died, which is so bizarre, no rotational parts was quite surprising....
Meanwhile my mac mini server has gone flawlessly since 2012 when I bought it, and even my 2011 15" max configed macbook pro I keep around to let a lover use that has the radeon chip that is supposed to go bunk is still going strong heh.... Oh and I have a 13" sandy '11 macbook air that runs great too.... I seem to have shit luck with macs with discrete gpus the battery on my 2011 maxed 15" started bloating and i couldn't click on my trackpad properly and had to have it replaced....
I do keep my macbook pros at load so maybe it's just a thermal thing...
anyways, eager to install el capitan, glad it's working out for you...

I refuse to use anything higher than mavericks. Apple does not make good software anymore. Their shit is all filled with bugs nowadays.

El Capitan is running smoother than any other release for me, they've finally optimized all of the native apps for retina so if you have a retina screen it runs the way it always should have.

Yah as long as things are reasonably stable at 10.10.5 I wouldn't fuck w/ it either...

I'm on 10.9.5 and I don't plan on upgrading whatsoever. This os will be current enough to be supported to last me the next 5 years before I need to buy a new desktop computer.

Ah you are right, Mavericks, Yosemite, el capitan.... I've gotten confused since big cats labeled the OS, new theme is popular places in Cali, reinforcing apple is an American company....

Apple is getting a bit obnoxious, I get texts and phone calls to my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook simultaneously.... Can be useful but if I don't set up DND can be obnoxious...not even just iMessages, 3rd party texts from carriers... Is now done through wifi, was Bluetooth and decided it had to be in relative proximity to phone.....

Messages between iOS and OS get pretty messed up. Sometimes they show up on one platform but not the other. Sometimes they're out of order. Sometimes they appear as a new conversation with somebody you already have a previous conversation running.
This isn't an El Capitan issue specifically; I'm just surprised they haven't fixed it yet.
