What is the Bodhisattva path to you, from your words and your life?

Do you have any issue with people who take parts of Buddhism, parts of Daoism, parts of Shinto, etc. . . from the first people, native americans, and from german roots, and gaelic. . .

or is that pretty normal :sun:

what's the path of peace - to you, from your life?

Basically I adhere to the Perennial Philosophy as told by Aldous Huxley. It's basically the string that connects all the major religions. It is more concerned with experiencing mystical states than with adhering to any particular dogma or tradition. So, like you, I pull from all of the religions (mostly from Eastern religions and shamanism though).

I was in my first ayahuasca/peyote circle this weekend (both were shared). It was a diverse group, and people were invoking a variety of spiritual traditions together. There were peyote and ayahuasca songs, christian hymns and prayers, pop songs, buddhist stuff, crystals, totems, tobacco pipes, whatever. I don't have any particular tradition at the moment aside from silence, but is was pretty cool to feel them all feeding and supporting each other.

There was some heavy trauma being processed in the circle, barriers dissolving. It felt that we were all sharing the load and setting it free, ya know? Sublimating that stuff that's too heavy for one to bear alone. It depended on us all being present with more than ourselves, stretching the circle until it encapsulated all the dualities and contradictions. Embracing the other and identifying with it until there is one--everything and nothing.
