whats everyone's thoughts on our integration with machines. where you think it will lead humans?
benefits/downsides?
basic info on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain%E2%80%93computer_interface
i was checking on any new technologies just now. and wondering what happends once we start outsourcing skills that can be developed naturally to outside machines connected to us. on one end the devices would allow us to skip that learning stage for complex skills. like a calculator. we outsourced basic calculations to outside device. when only 40 years ago we had to do it with our head and pencil and paper. many people claim that we got stupider. others claim that this freed up more brain resources for other stuff like the computers today. they do a lot of our thinking for us. making us stupider while allowing us to focus on something else.
we continue making more and more devices to replace what we would normally do manually. but while more and more devices show up. i think theres a threshold where theres just too many things being outsourced and the time it takes to learn all these accessories is actually consuming more of our time than if we just did it the old way.

I forsee Viruses making people crazy Product placement in dreams Hackers taking control of peoples minds and bodies False sense impressions remotely inserted during waking hours Government keeping us safe by demanding access to everyone's thoughts Brain encryption existing Self censorship software installed at birth An IP address assigned to every human Very few people caring
What actually happens will probably be even wackier than all this. It's chilling but also kind of exciting to be living on the verge of a scifi nightmare.

It's easy enough to profile someone already. Everything you buy and sell your communications, handwriting, medical history, etc etc.
Reality is don't worry your not special and never will be. I don't think anyone has significant influence or control and it should be fun to watch.
