Laptop advice

Im thinking about shelling out some good money to get a laptop. I'm going to need a lot of space. I plan on having a large collection of music. I'm going to need to run adobe products. And I would like to mask my ip address to download stuff anonymously. I was thinking a MacBook might be my best bet.
Any opinions/advice?

MacBooks are great if you have a lot of money and you prefer MacOS. Otherwise, there's a whole slew of viable options. Lenovo is a brand that is quite popular these days (used to be the IBM Thinkpads). I personally use an Asus Zenbook, but by requirements were different from yours (portability, mostly).

Macbooks suck and are way too overly expsensive. If you just need space and adobe, you can get a windows laptop with 1.5 terabytes of space for less than 500 dollars.
Macbooks have like half the space(usually less) and 2-3x the price.

Do you do any gaming? I mean if you want a high end laptop, most gaming laptops are gonna be the best you can get.

If you want a lot of (internal) storage, your best bet cost-wise is probably to add it yourself. Some laptops have two 2.5" drive bays; you could put a SSD in one for the boot drive (I recommend 250 GB minimum, more if you've got the money), and a 2 TB HDD in the other for storage. Or you could go with a mSATA SSD (assuming the computer supports it) and save a drive bay.
My laptop is a 15" Thinkpad T series that I got pretty cheap (wouldn't recommend this particular model if you want something lightweight though). It has one 2.5" drive bay and you can get a HDD caddy to replace the optical drive to add another bay (I got a cheap one from China that works fine). I have a 2.5" SSD in one bay and the original 320 GB drive in the other, but conceivably I could have gone with a mSATA SSD and had 2x2TB in the 2.5" bays.

Tbh macbooks aren't the best for storage or computing power. They're probably about 3x more expensive for the exact same specs if you were to just get one ran by linux or windows.
Apple stuff is generally more expensive even if it's worse than something cheaper.

That laptop(and the whole list) are all really good laptops. Better than a macbook, and still pretty much half the price of some of them.

I'd look for windows 7 though op. Much cheaper and a wider range of programs can be used on it if you're interested in looking to use ripped software. Also easier to navigate imho.

Looking for a laptop with win7 bundled is going to limit your options to near zero. If it's necessary, consider it only as a replacement of the OS the laptop comes with. Personally I don't see any benefit in 7 over 8.1, but I don't use pirated software and win8.1 overall works fine for me, but YMMV.

Another thing to consider is whether portability is actually necessary for what you need the computer for. Your money will go a lot farther with regard to both processing power and storage space if you get a desktop computer.

Just shop around, 8gb ram, 1tb, and a decent processor should be enough to suit your needs. You can buy cheap and upgrade or check out some "build your own" sites.

Just bumping to ask another question.
I thin, I'm going to have a custom comp built by a local company. Thoughts?
Can I use a VPN through any type of computer?

if you want a big screen i'd just use a separate monitor. Most laptops have seperate video ports.
i think 19" is pretty much as big as laptop screens get and they are probably expensive af. whereas you can get a 26" 1080P monitor for like 200 bucks
