Successful outdoor cyanescens cultivation tips?

So I'm trying to cultivate cyans outdoors I'm trying to do this by getting a sample of mycelium from a patch where I've harvested some cyans a few weeks ago (I'm in washington). I've put a few mycs on a wet cardboard piece and the rest in potting soil and wood chips in a tub and placed outside. In the tub I also "planted" a couple cyans. I've misted them everyday twice a day. Does this sound like it might have a chance of success? My plan is to get the cyans to start taking over and then moving them to a bigger wood chips colony I'm starting in my back yard.

it won't happen quickly, likely you may see some next season, keep it moist.

Oh I know it'll take a year about to see anything... I just don't know if I should move what's in the tub to an actual woodchip area come spring or summer or if I should see if they pin first in the tub next year

I have started many patches by planting the stem butts in suitable areas. Go to home depot and get some bags of Scotts nature scapes wood chips. Use that for your beds. Don't get the stuff with bark in it.
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
