Vegans eat Veg's and anchovies, if I remember. . .
j/k.
i'm mostly a vegetarian, since i was a kid . . couldn't stand the taste of meat; then i spent much of my life total vegetarian, now it's just mostly. i do think it's healthier - and, as natural as it is for me, to slip back into a vegetarian life, i am sure i will again someday. . .
organic is good to buy generally because it's usually more considerate to the animal as well; factory farming has definitely got to stop - all evidence pretty much points to our similarity in nature with animals. . .
if you gave lsd to a cow, i can almost guarantee you they would have a fantastic trip - etc. . . and in fact, that's an area of research that is wide open ( un-cluttered ) and probably should have more investigators. . .
shall we?

Getting a really good blender and adding a couple of raw veggie smoothies to my diet was definitely a big turning point for me!
What do you recommend as far as blenders go, and do you have any recipes you would like to share for a good raw veggie smoothie?
My boyfriend & I have the nutri-bullet, we've had it for almost 3 years and it's still going pretty strong considering we use it 5 or 6 times a day between the two of us.
"Salad in Cup" smoothie
1 cup (packed) Baby Spinach 1/2 cup Cucumbers 1/4 cup Carrots Slice of Fresh Ginger Peeled taste Juice of a Fresh Lemon to taste
Blend w/ water.
You want to blend the spinach first by itself with just plain water so it will blend down into a drinkable consistency. If you throw everything in together the spinach will end up kind of chunky. Unless you have a Vitamix but those things are like 500 bucks.
You could subsititute any greens that you like! Swiss & Rainbow chard (de-stemmed) are also really good. Some people like to use kale but I find it comes out the consistency of astroturf in a smoothie, and upsets my stomach not cooked.

i can't speak on being vegan but as far as being vegetarian goes: Too many people think a vegetarian diet is just eating the same shit they used to eat without the chicken or whatever. That's not the case. If you're cutting something out, especially the main thing you based your meals around, you need to supplement your diet properly. It's absolutely ridiculous to assume vegetarians don't get enough protein or struggle to. That's such a myth, unless it's just someone who is clueless as to how to balance their diet properly.
As for vegetarian type diets being "boring". That shit cracks me up. As if basing every meal of your life around beef or chicken is exotic and exciting. Literally 99% of ingredients on the planet fit in with a vegetarian diet, to say it's so boring is one of the silliest things people say. Depending on where you live it's not always as convenient or easy as eating meat but the diet being boring certainly shouldn't keep anyone interested from doing it. I'm not vegetarian myself but I've dated numerous vegetarian girls and always enjoyed the diet when I participated.

"Boring" is an opinion though. To me, not having meat fat or dairy IS boring. I eat meat with literally every meal I have. It's just too damn good to give up

Perhaps. But one definition of "boring" is "monotonous". I just think to say, "if you don't base all of your meals around literally 3 or so ingredients, then your diet is boring", is just absolutely insane. It literally says basically nothing about the diet itself. It's like saying "I don't include beans in my diet." Does that mean the diet is boring? I eat meat too but it just blows my mind when people act like it's a requirement for the diet to not be bland and/or boring. It really couldn't be farther from the truth and I'd bet money that most vegetarians eat more interesting and varied foods than people who are content throwing a chicken breast and mashed potatoes on a plate Monday - Friday. I just think it's such a dated misnomer, that's all.

I'm trying to eat 100% whole grains apparently there's a huge difference. Non-whole grains are basically trash food from what I've read. I'm also avoiding processed sugars. I'm gonna try to find some quinoa. It's got compete or nearly complete amino acids.
I got a 1000 watt ninja blender that works surprisingly well. I thought it would be junk it was under a 100 bucks if I remember right. It's extremely easy to clean and tears through what ever I put in it.

Right now I use kale, carrots, strawberries, kiwis, and oranges, and ice.+ a splash of mango or pineapple juice I love the texture that kiwis add and you can't even notice the kale taste usually.
