Not yet, I've been running grain in my PC exclusively lately. I need to start using bags.

I'm going to make some soon though. I originally purchased them because of blindingleafs recommendation. They worked great.

They worked out pretty good alot of condensation due to not leaving in PC long enough. But the tubes are good.

Nothing too fancy. I have used it three times for filling pp5s with agar and it works great, fast and no mess at all as long as you don't tilt it and let air in, no agar on the sides of the dishes. Can fill all my pp5s with the right amount in seconds by filling it one time. Will be using it for slants next week. Thought it might be hard to clean but sucked water in and it squirted out clean, I will never do them any other way now.

I was going to by another analog thermometer for the dozenth time. I keep breaking the damn things because of the peessure they have to endure from my stuffing the shit out of my substrate jars. The damn store only had analog therm. that start at 120*F. Then I saw this bad boy.

It has a timer and an alarm for when desired temperature is reached. I bring the water in the pot up to a rapid boil and I heat my substrate to 125*F. I then turn off the heat and put the lid on the pot. The substrate temperature will peak at 165*F and won't fall below 140*F until after the 2 hour mark. This thermometer allows me to work on other things while my jars are heating up. It is definitely worth the money.

Just got a bunch of plastic lids in the mail. Gonna use it with my agar/grain jars. How many PC runs do you think these lids can go through?

I've heard a lot of people like using these types of lids vs. the metal ones because they're easier to work with in the SAB during transfers.

I hope the seal holds just as good as the metal ones, they seem a bit bigger than the rim of the jar.

Unless you got the rubber gaskets to go with them, they don't really seal. But they can be used...

Mainstay's plastic lids from walmart work well. Not loose and have never had a problem that stemmed from using them plastic lids.

So the brand I got will still have an air gap? When I turn it all the way it feels airtight. I doubt any contams will be able to get through, but we will see.. I'm pretty confident in my sterile procedures in the SAB, and I'll make sure I turn the lids tight all the way after transfers.

The lid makes contact, but probably not perfect like a metal lid. They work great, just don't handle them excessively around the neck.

Shroom supply sells o rings for them as well.
