Clean room build, advice on a HEPA filter

Hey guys, quick question. I'm planning on building a clean room and would like a large HEPA filter/flowhood. I was thinking of having the blower outside the room pushing air through the wall mounted filter into the room (with a pre filter 'natch). And having a smaller particle filter on the opposite side to create a positive pressure room. Would this work? Also would this filter be big enough/filterable enough for say a 8'x8' room?

Positive pressure is usually the idea for clean rooms so yes you are on track. I would recommend having the pre filter before the fan so the blades don't dirty up with dust and spores over time. The astrocel 1000 is a super commonly used HEPA for flowhoods, i think that filter you linked might be a bit low in CFM for that size for proper laminar flow

are you trying to use that filter for a laminar flow hood? i use one slightly larger in a 10x12 inoculation room.

Yes, my plan was to have a wall mounted LFH. The filter would be near-ceiling mounted, blow down the wall and across the table.

Typically you mount the filter just in front of your workspace and have the air flow horizontally out. One issue with having the flow going downwards is anything that falls off your hands gets blown onto the growing media. Also the air hitting the table will cause turbulence which negates the whole laminar flow idea. With horizontal flow as long as your hands and tools aren't on the far side of the media you should be safe.

Haven't built the room yet but do have the filter. This thing is massive, and now I need a bigger inoculation table! Ideas how to improve my setup?
