That sucks, man. I was told mine looked unhealthy in another thread and to be on the lookout for green fuzz, so I might not be too far behind you. Still hoping they make it!

Some species produce distinct odors. Trichoderma viride produces a coconut odor in culture. This odor might not be unique to T. viride and other species of Trichoderma may produce a similar odor. The presence of such odor is a good indication that Trichoderma is present in a sample.
I guess odor is of no use in the coco casing world.
Fungus of the month: Trichoderma By: Eric Schile
The genus Trichoderma contains about 40 species. The taxonomy of this genus has been, and continues to be chaotic. One of the difficulties that exists in species level identification with this genus, is that many species are very similar microscopically and macroscopically in morphology. Trichoderma species are present in nearly all soils worldwide. Three species, T. viride, T. harzianum, and T. koningii, are usually found in indoor environments on building materials such as wallpaper, tiles, wallboard, and wood that is rich in cellulose. Generally, Trichoderma species require relatively higher water activity than some other indoor molds such as Penicillium or Aspergillus.
These guys are just doing there thing. So if your not care full, it seems very easy to get these nasty buggers.I have lots of wood in my grow area's-seems natural for me to have problems with this.I will have to remove my wood shelves and replace with plastic or metal.I have cedar panels all over also.I may have to clean and dust them more regular.

Trich has a very characteristic smell and it does not smell like coco coir
You're really going to replace your wooden shelves? that's totally unnecessary and I'm not sure it would even make a difference
IMO if you're worried about contams like Trich, work on getting clean spawn instead of doing stuff like this trying to combat contams in your room.

I believe it was because of the temperature increase; apparently anything 27°C and above favour Trichoderma growth; and last week it got really warm in my house; I am thinking my Garage may be a better place for now to do this.
Do not forget; the substrate is always a few degrees warmer than it actually is in your environment.
This is a lurning curve; albiet a lengthy one.
The funny thing is; the manure tubs I thought failed; started producing fruits! hahah! No joke. (Already got a few dried G's)

I'm at it again, think this is my 3rd unBODified and my first GT tub, never had the pleasure. Can I get a more experienced eye(s) on how things look?
First two pictures are 5 days from spawning, I thought the sub looked a little dry on top so gave it a generous misting last night.

Second two pictures are about 10 hours after the misting, on day 6.

Not worried, I think it's progressing fine - good speed on colonization. Just like reassurance. Thank you, my dudes.

Should not need misting until after full colonization and probably not even until pins form in most cases. And that's fruiting conditions immediately.
Otherwise looks fine

Hi, bod. \m/
Lemme ask then:
A lot of people direct newbs over to the post by Comebackkid regarding proper surface moisture.
It seems like most TC's that I can recall agree beading of water on the surface is good until fruiting - I think you've taken the stance that a little drier sub is better than water logged.
My question then is, while you aim to distill the process into the least amount of fuckering possible, even if the top of the sub looks like the first two pics in my post, you'd say don't fuck with it and let it ride?
This is the first tub I've had (unbodified or otherwise) with no moisture on the sides of the tub, etc. My coir brick was made with a decent capacity (just a hair under a gallon of water) and no verm, so not worried that it's too dry. It's also my fastest colonizing, hands down. Like I said, not worried about it just trying to nail down my specifics in each situation.

Hey bodh, I am doing bulk for the first time and using your UnBODified tek, using a 34Qt with a spawn ration of 1:2 C/V substrate. I have read a lot before this attempt and have a few cake grows under my belt. Question is how do you think the mycelium is looking is healthy? Does everything look okay in your opinion?
I find things are looking good so far. Just looking for a little confirmation from yourself, as it is your tek I am using. Thanks, MHunter

Not my tek, but I use it, and mycelium is mycelium no matter the tek... looks pretty healthy to me, how long since spawning?

I'd say you're golden... I usually walk away from mine until day 6... usually lol... I'm just anal, checking a lot, obsessing about it... seems they appreciate a little space though

I don't even look at mine until they are a good portion colonized. Otherwise there's nothing to look at

By the time they pin I will probably be obsessive! At least for now they get some privacy!
