I thought you had mentioned that before. I rotate my short-stacks anyways, but cool thanks!
I'm stoked to be trying these out the next round. Looks like I got 32qt, as I wasn't paying as close attention. It looks like they're just shorter than the 54qt., so we'll see how they do.

it'll work. if anything it has the same size "air gaps" to a smaller substrate so if anything I suspect it will work better
I can't wait to see someone else try it out.
I just always did MS grows clone and then the clones always come out canopy or near canopy

Upon reviewing your tek (again), I'd like to add what a great idea it is to mix your spawn and sub in a trashbag first, then put the trash bag in the tub. I don't know why this never occurred to me but it's a great idea! I always did the opposite and always got sub on the outside of the trash bag and the stray sub has always gone bacterial.
Sold.
Edit: I'm using your tek again with one of my tubs, high spawn ratio and started with agar (for the first time). I'll let you know how it goes in a week or two.

this most recent tub I mixed then poured it in, so it doesn't have a liner at all. I just blast my tubs out with hot water then sani them let them drip dry then fill up. keeping the bag as a liner is fine but I hate trimming the liner

Man speaking of bulk harvest i wouldn't be mad if i had. Those came out beautifully. When i move to bulk i might give this a go. Funny i was just looking at those tubs last time i was at the store too. Very nice!

When you have the lid on turned 90 degrees, I assume having a ceiling fan on isn't nessecarry/would dry it out quick? Just to be clear you don't want a ceiling fan going while the lids turned?

Okay so minimal air movement will do the trick. Thanks bodhi. I can't believe you're not a TC. That's ho'd

Air movement is fine but maybe you have to mist three times a week instead of one of two.

Moving the lid into a position that it's not intended to be in will obviously be a problem if you're stacking monos.
So how about occasionally removing the polyfill from a couple of the monotub's holes instead messing with the lid?

How would it be a problem?

Rotate tubs for light or use light from the side. Rotate tubs lids 90° if you want

Oh, I see.
I have a different style tub and lid, (probably cheaper) and I would be worried about:
- The lids becoming distorted
- The whole tower sliding/ crashing down
- This isn't as efficient space-wise as having tubs all pointing in the same direction
I'll play around with my tubs and maybe try one on the top as a control and see if this method produces a better flush.
Since all my tubs already have holes, it seems easier to just remove some polyfill and see how it goes.

excellent tek, big thanks for sharing and explaining everything so well.
i learned a LOT in this thread, there is a lot of meat here. its really a great demonstration of how if you understand the principles involved in cubensis culture, the sky is the limit for the ways you can fruit. it can really be as complicated or as simple as you want to make it, as long as you have a solid plan, execute it well, and the culture's needs are met.
whether that's a badass automated room a la azure, or a COMPLETELY unmodified tub with no liner, there are MANY ways to fruit cubes and fruit them WELL. we are only limited by our imaginations and the ways we complicate and get in the way of what the mycelium naturally wants to do: GROW!
seeing a super simplistic technique like this executed and explained so well really helped me connect some dots mentally. it is so common for people to overestimate the importance of humidity, while underestimating the importance of FAE. It also does a fantastic job demonstrating the ways a skilled grower can maintain fruiting conditions without depending on the "crutch" of a fruiting chamber, with excellent results
this thread really changed the way i look at the fruiting cycle. ive started leaving the lids on my monotubs open and misting to maintain surface moisture, looking great so far really helped reduce my paranoia about having the lid open or polyfil removed
one question though: any notes or advice regarding parasitic contams (like trich) using this method? of course the polyfil does not create a sterile environment or anything, but is there any increased risk of contams from open holes? of course, increasing FAE will help a lot, and it is essential to use fully colonized spawn and properly pasteurized substrate, and "100% colonized substrate is damn near bulletproof," but are there any special concerns, applicable notes, or techniques called for here?

right? IMHO the Trusted Cultivator tag system is busted for as long as bodhi lacks one
