Re: BOD's Easy AF UnBODified Monotub TEK (No Holes No Polyfil) [Re: bodhisatta]
    #24736961 - 10/25/17 03:39 PM (6 years, 3 months ago)

I have two of these going.
One I thought I was beginning to have issues with, it didn't show any signs of knots or pins almost 10 days after I flipped the lid. It's pinned now but I'm afraid my pinset is uneven.
My 2nd tub however I just spawned to the tub 3 days ago and its flying.

What can I do to prepare an even pinset?

I don't see anything that would be concerning

Is the blue bruising? My mycelium layer seems yellow but I was assuming it was from misting. My sub is drying out.

Hey Bod

huge fan i can't believe people on reddit dont talk about you more.
Your teks are so well thought out and your tubs are thes best looking thickest flushes i have seen anywhere on the net. Seriously write a book or something dude.

Ok so here is my baby:

what do you think about my surface conditions?

this is my first grow and i followed your directions exactly.
Though i did a pseudo casing layer as you described because i was worried as my house is very dry.

i know a monotub is a bit ambitious for a first time grow and your methods one requirement that i was lacking on is the mycologysts green thumb so i would love some tips or tricks you have on keeping good surface conditions and what to look for to see when to mist and how much?

thanks for everything dude.

As if it has not been said before, but I really felt the need to give thanks and show appreciation for TEKs such as this one.

I value efficiency, effectiveness and lack of waste. bodhi, every single TEK that I have gone through of yours exhibits these qualities. Not to knock any other TEKs, as I have learned so much from other members, but this type of refinement is crucial. New growers may need to make many mistakes to reach this level (and this is how they learn), but to have it all laid out right in front of you to make the most of very little is a treasure for new growers and old alike. "Evolution" of any practise can be made through this type of direct and simple approach.

Sir :skol:

Ready to fruit? [Re: Acquario]
    #24756219 - 11/03/17 04:32 AM (6 years, 2 months ago)

80% Coir 20% Verm

Straw Tub 1

Straw Tub 2

The 80% Coir 20% Verm was used using your BODs Tek. Thank you so much for the knowledge.

QUESTION: I mixed these tubs 10/21/17. I then stored under a cover in my clean area with temps staying between 72 at the coldest part of night and mid day where I live temps can reach 90. Should I fruit these bad boys?

I mixed all 3 tubs with 4 cups of fully colonized WBS. The WBS was colonized w/ Golden Teachers. I am still a beginner and I am starting to get into agar so I really do appreciate the help. Do you or anyone else think I should let the tubs colonize more before I take the cover off the tubs and expose them to ambient light? I have learned to let the substrate "fully colonize" before initiating fruiting. My belief of full colonization is almost solid white. Healthy myc of course but solid white almost. I would have to guess my tubs are around 70% to 80% colonized. I may be over thinking and stoney but I just want to get it right. Please let me know what you guys think and any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks for reading!
