Where's the pics of unmodded tubs? It's what we all really want.

Good write up.
If I may ask, how does this compare to say Frank's Monotub Tek? What about in terms of yield?
I was going to follow Frank's Method soon, but now I'm wondering if I should be going with bod's tek.
Frank's Monotub Tek is older than this one, and this is the hot/new tek that people seem to be gravitating toward at the moment. I guess what I'm asking is, is there a particular reason people are gravitating to this one? Is there a big advantage or "new" science?

I spawned my 2nd monotub last night using Damian's coir tek using coco and verm with WBS spawn. My first monotub developed mold so I had to throw it out unfortunately.
This morning I checked on the tub and there is condensation on the inside walls and inside of the lid. Is this normal? Does it sound like it is too humid inside the tub?
Thanks

All my colonizing tubs of all sizes have condensation on the lid. Just means the temperature is different inside the tub than outside. Be careful not to drip it on the sub when you lift the lid

Great thank you. Should I keep my tub in the dark while it is colonizing? Or is ambient light from a window ok?

It's hard to compare. Anyone with some skill can do a killer grow in just about anything.

Ambient light is good at all stages

I've had some condensation during colonization on this first tub I've done but I don't think its gonna be a problem.
Spawned on 8-2 with a 1:2 spawn-sub ratio. About to put into fruiting conditions.

This is what I have. Very accurate. It will help me recognize the changes. A bit expensive but worth it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NEZNF1O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Quote:

I been busy with life. But for all those interested, chrck my sig. I have too much going on.
But seriously.. This tek plus a feel for things is king.
I got 2lbs dry from 5 tubs so far with more flushes going And i fucked up a -lot- along the way.
As long as my jars are clean and i ise the tub tek, i'm getting about 120-150g first flush per tub dry. And the more i leave them alone the better.
Learned so much from this thread, and i'm stepped way back now to examine the stuff i am learning, and in about 3-6 months i will come back to let you all know what i learned.. Butseriously .. This is brilliant tek basics and can be very well built upon with feel.
1/2 lb per tub is reasonable.
Learn what you can, folks. These things will tell you what they need if youlisten .
All praise to bod. Thanks for everything. I'm working on this foundation to research further. Going to explore where this tek can go. Talk to you all in a few months.

You know what, those trays inside the tub look fantastic. I think those pics are going to inspire me to do much thinner substrates. I always make my substrate very, very deep, and I think my problem has been that it'll take way too long to consolidate. I haven't had a failed grow yet, but I've had problems. My tub is currently producing pins but many have been blobby and deformed, and there's a million big side pins but relatively few on the surface. No signs of mold (I think the verm is causing the blobs) but the good news is these blobs keep growing and rarely look unhealthy, and they weigh a ton. Just, I want flushes that look like those trays above. Good, tall, and healthy!

Hey guys,
For this Tek is a 6500k bulb the only important part of the light? I can't seem to find exactly a 26w 6500k CFL.... if I use a different bulb and/or a different wattage (23 or 30 for example) as long as it's all still 6500k it should work, right?

Yes, the color temperature is the important part here.

Or just use a window and a few minutes of direct sunlight if needed

Yup, that's what I do. Lights are way too much hassle and unnecessary, IMO.
But if you want to use them, the 6500k is what matters, not the wattage.
My first unmodified shoebox ever..5-6 cakes (I can't actually remember, lol) to 50/50ish coir & verm

Possibly.
I was actually wondering the same thing. Got some Ecuador and B+ cakes going at the same time. This shoebox was supposed to only be B+, but one half definitely looks a bit different.
