RR says temps over 83 stall mycelium growth. Very true in my experience. Thus guving a hand to bacteria. My ac stays at 78 because im a cheap ass when it cones to A/C and like living dangerously.

Willy Myco says between 78' and 85". I keep my indoor temp between 77'-78'. Not because I'm cheap but because I like the heat. Mine are colonizing in a closest that sits in the 78'-81' range. It makes sense to me since these two (Pan and Mex) grow in very hot and humid environments. So I'm ok with my temps being in the Willy range, I also like to live dangerously.

Willy myco is not worth parroting #tripteam
Equatorial climate is much different than the micro climates we artifically induce in jars and bins.
But hey post some pics up of your grain jars colonizing at 83+ F.

I'm ok with the temps in the 78'-81 range. The closet doesn't get any hotter than 81 even with the AC set at 78'.

While I agree with you, his videos got me really interested in mycology because I am a visual learner. I will say I have learned more reading here in less time than it took me to watch his videos. Having a group of people like you in here has helped my adventure immensely!

so you think that's why people like and believe in him, because he's on the internet? common man. I can't speak for all of them but there are many of us who benefit from his video's. Watching how it is done is invaluable. I'm trying to fruit Pans and his 3 part "how to" video was more helpful than what I found here. There is tons of valuable info and ppl here but it's not the only place to learn. It also doesn't help to get the same reply of "you need to build a proper sgfc" for any and every question asked. If "noobs" keep getting that standard reply what do you think we will do? Give up asking? No, we have to find it somewhere else. I've got all kinds of problem going on with my first grow and I've been asking for identification and solutions so I can learn about these things and not make the same mistakes. Getting the "build a sgfc" doesn't help me to learn or understand the why and how.
You are a wealth of info and very helpful. I know you don't like other systems, that's fine but help us to modify what we are working to save our first grow. I plan to switch to a sgfc or mono next now that I've found this site but not until I see this first one through.

Something's off about Willy myco, I've watched some of his videos, and though he seems like he is familiar with aspects of this hobby... Watch one of his videos, then check out one of Marc Keith's (RR) videos. RR's is full of knowledge, insight, and straight up wisdom. I think ppl dog him because, sure he gives a little advice, (alot of its bad) but folks make him out to be some kind of expert, when there are some real heroes on this forum with much better advice.

And yes, his technique isn't the best. I've only been doing this a short time, and I see many errors in his technique. I'm pretty sure I seen him wipe a needle after flaming in one of his videos

I'm new at all this so he comes off as knowledgeable but I guess that's because I don't know any better. I'll check out Marc's video's. I wasn't aware he made them. I'm a full time student with a full time job, it makes it hard to get in all the reading and watching I need to do. This is evident with who I bought my jars and kit from. I recently talked to some ppl and watched a video who rated the vendor as "do not buy". The vendor for my syringe was rated the highest. I'm thinking the only reason I haven't lost this whole grow is due to good spores and my inoculation process. I feel the problems I'm having are from the cakes. It's a learning process.
