So this a bit off topic, but still in reference to this somewhat (as far as harvesting). I checked out your harvest tel, and that's brilliant. I never would have thought about that. It not only rises the substrate for harvesting, but dunks too without having to fumble around trying to remove the sub. Quick question on that though: have you considered making a small hole in the corner fitted with a plug. That way instead of siphoning and tilting, you just pull the plug? I feel like a SHIP would work pretty good to use as a plug.
Didn't want to comment on that post because it said "this post is more than 30 days old" etc. Haha. I'll delete if you don't think it's relevant. I guess it wouldn't really be "no holes" any more..but still isn't the traditional tub holes that we think of.
These teks are like completely revolutionary compared to the majority I've seen on here...but also look crazy simple, low maintenance and less time consuming.

B+ Day 15, unbodified..
All is going well, although, you can see in the corner some discoloration. It was worse two days ago, and looks more like a blue bruise than a green growth but I'm crossing my fingers it's nothing bad.

Liking this tub tek better than dealing with poly.

curious, I posted the same concept in Bod's harvesting tek thread. I drilled a hole and used duct tape to cover it and it works pretty well, it's great for getting out that last little bit of water

Just when i was about to give up on my tub, some things happened..
(cant upload on the forums) 1. http://i.imgur.com/Ig90UJO.jpg 2. http://i.imgur.com/AyScl8g.jpg 3. http://i.imgur.com/ivm8cSH.jpg 4. http://i.imgur.com/9Jw6ZuN.jpg 5. http://i.imgur.com/LJJStvM.jpg
But i am worried that why all the pins occurred on the sides, not even one on the top?
Also, there are small beads of water on top of substrate, so i dont think i need to mist more.
And one more thing, should I get a dedicated light for monotub alone?

If they all form on the sides pop that thing out in an empty larger mono and fruit the edges. Fuck it lol

This month is my 20 year anniversary of cultivation, so to celebrate I decided to try something new for the first time since evolving away from PF Tek 19 years ago.
My very first monotub...wish me luck:

Thanks Bodhisatta. We shall see if this old dog can learn new tricks.

Lay a 145gal tall aquarium on it's side, lay in an inch of wet perlite, construct a lid of plexiglass, and attach it with binder clips...lay a long light on top of the aquarium. As the plexiglass absorbs moisture on one side, it curls, allowing one upper corner and the opposite lower corner to be curled open for air exchange.
Sterilize substrate (rye grass seed, brown rice, and zoo Doo) in half gallon jars, inoculate with agar wedges, and then when colonized, lay out into trays, cased with straight verm. Mist and fan twice a day.
Very revolutionary for 1997. Hehe.
