Waswondering , i looked in the OP and saw myco mako's dates..
It looked like inoculation to spawning the tub in 3 weeks, then full on harvest just 10 days later..
I'm wondering what people's timelines have been with this twk.

I've had a tub fruit at 8 days, and another at 25.
It depends

I read through this a few times and maybe im being dumb but when colonising whats the best way to have the lid?

It's not rocket science and you'll need to develop skill and experience so try shit and learn. This means I am putting the tub into "fruiting conditions" a little bit before full colonization.
I understood that as keep it on until 50-90% and then flip it over and play around and figure out what works for you

My understanding is seal side down until pretty much colonized then flip it upside down, and cracking it open for extra FAE for a few hours a day during the 12hr lighting cycle, misting as needed.
another question however.....
during colonization with the lid sealed.. should we use the clamps?

During colonization of the coir, do we need to keep the lid closed all the time? If yes, how can there be GE?
Right now i have the same air tight blue colored tub, but its closed all time. Is that the reason maybe mycelium wont colonize the coir?

Doesn't really matter unless you have a reason to believe the lid might get knocked off

The grains should recover and start to make white patches on you substrate. You don't necessarily want it air tight but at least undisturbed. Try to keep co2 levels up during colonization is the standard but people sometimes throw their tub straight to fruiting conditions (from minor ge to fae , dropping temp slightly and introducing 12/12 light cycle) and it works out just fine. During colonization I leave the lid on unclaimed. Then flip it about 80% colonization. Once it's 100% I started doing the 90° turn for short period while I was home. If I've learned anything it's more about learning what your tub needs based on how it looks, not so much a prescriptive instruction. But I've still got alot to learn

So, that makes things nice.. Putting two bins next to each other works perfectly on a 24x36 resin shelf from Canadian tire.. Leaves enough room above to string led strips.. I started building mine, with 3 x 21 inch strips per shelf making 1.6m total of 6500k led strip lighting that has 700 lumens/m. So, kinda 1120lum shared between both tubs.. Not sure how that will go..
I'm thinking of adding a 900lum 13w cfl in the middle right between both tubs..
What would be the minimum lumens per tub here, and if i can make it super bright, how much heat might i want to generate for convection? I think a mix of led 6500k plus a cfl bulb together should get enough light and just a little heat to add confection..
I think i ask a lot of questions, hey? Haven't even got this thing going and i'm trying to figure it out.. Probably going to learn a ton more fromexperience, but hey.. Preparation and knowledge increases my chances.

But seriously ..
Should i Think about getting a cfl ?
Or is a fan indirect plus turned lids enough fae?
From my understanding, the myc eating nutrients generates a little heat on it's own, and my home is pretty much always 25 Celsius.. I'm actually got an a/c untit to keep it at 25 on days when it hops to 28-29 in here.

Just an update, I got to know why my tub wouldn't colonize even after 14 days. I used all the tub clamps which restricted any kind of air flow.
So 2 days ago, i didn't flip the lid, i just released the clamps, and today i saw mycelium colonizing the coir way faster than in 14 days.
Thanks sherpashaman for asking the question.

I'll be trying this tek very shortly. This sounds very awesome! Out of all the teks I want to try, this one excites me the most.
