I don't modify my agar lid on the media bottles but I feel so wrong about not using a filtered lid for grain jars.

I'm doing my first grow using this tek. I've managed to get pins. Could you guys tell me how they look and if my sub looks too wet, or too dry?

That's 6 or 7 hours after a heavy mist, the top still looks damp with tiny microdroplets. Since it's my first time I'm having trouble judging the moisture.

Oh wow do they? I've been misting them hard and then fanning hard and leaving the lid cracked turned 90 degrees. I am scared I am overmisting though. I have a bunch of side and bottom pins, more pins then I have on top. Is that a sign of over misting? Also some pins have yellow stems others have white.

You'll have to mist if you're leaving the lid ajar a lot

Hi all and thanks bodhisattva for such an awesome thread. This is going to be my first attempt at mushrooms and have went ahead and purchased three syringes of various strains. I was wondering what everyone opinions are on going for the 32q vs 54q. My current pressure cooker can hold 3 quart jars at a time. Thanks for the input all!

You'll want something like 2-4 jars for the smaller tub and 3-5 for the big one.
I use 325-460 grams (1/2-3/4 brick) of coir for the smaller tub 1 650g brick for the bigger

I dont think you'll be sorry with a 32qt. They are pretty nice if you don't have a bunch of jars, but still wanna make a tub. I also picked up a couple 20qt from the same line, which would be great for testing different genetics or using up a random jar or two.

I'm on day 10 after spawning, I think i'm seeing some knots. I have the lid upside down right now... should I go ahead and turn the lid 90 yet or should i wait for pinning?
