Anywhere between 4-6 mycoquarts of spawn for a 650g brick of coir... I
personally do measured gallon bags(4 full qts); one bag and one brick per tub with 2 light qts pulled out for a top layer

How many quarts/pounds of grain spawn does Bods Tek call for in the 54 quart tub?

Some famous people I asked here seem to go with 5 quarts of spawn per one 650g brick of coir. Some go with 4 or 6 or 7.

What type of yields are people typically getting with this ratio?

Let's say I've got a 8qt Presto PC, so looking at 8 pint jars of grain per batch. 3-4qt of colonized grain if all works well.

How much substrate would I mix with the grain spawn in one of the 32qt Sterilite tubs? In weight after prepped, as I think the 650g brick of coir is the weight of the dried coir brick, yes?

edit: I see depth should be ~2.5 to 3 inches and saw someone get close to that with half a brick of coir and 3qts of spawn - wondering if anyone else has similar experience?

I'm just hoping to get away with one 8qt PC run of grain per one 32qt monotub(I have two).

4-7 dry oz culture/conditions dependent

4qts will do fine with a full 650g brick: as stated in the opening page of the thread you asked the question in... go back and READ THE TEK

When I started the post, I was looking at a 6qt PC so 2qt grain spawn max. Found an 8qt PC and edited. Read this thing 15 times lol.:smirk:

Though I only can find one account of getting 8 pint jars in an 8qt PC so I'll expect 6 to fit as I can find many people stating this, meaning 3qt max of grain spawn. Not exactly covered in the first post, but I'm thinking that's within range and I could prep a brick of coir and use just enough to get 2.5-3inch depth, yes?

How does leftover prepped coir need to be stored? With the cooler lid on tight? Should be fine if that all makes sense.

Id just usee the whole brick...

BUT:

How long? If it's a week it'll be fine, any longer than that and I'd suggest drying it out for storage: bacteria and all

If you're going to buy a PC, I highly suggest the presto 23qt... its like $80 and large enough to do something with

This Tube i have bought today 32 liter but this not for Magic Shrooms they need a Tube half of the size maybe 10-15 liter. I don't want to harvest to much so smaller ones. I will try this TEK with King Oyster first.

King oyster will not perform well in these conditions: they need at minimum, high 50's low 60's for at least 3-5 days to pin and mature completely... you can increase temp once the caps start to form well, and you'll end up with lanky fruit  inside a tub...

I wouldn’t leave the lid off for more than an hour at a time ever. That’ll dry it out bad unless you’re somewhere very humid.

I wouldnt flip lid until you see signs of insufficient air exchange (fuzzy feet on fruit or thickening of surface colonization)... preserve what moisture is there, itll need it later... better to set and forget, than flip lid trying to rush pins and then screw the pooch trying to mist maintaining surface moisture... clean spawn, field capacity coir, LEAVE IT ALONE

This is one of second batch of UnBODified tubs. 4 quarts to one brick pure coir. Better genetics this time. I think I have lid and misting dialled in, even pinset and almost no side pins. I got 900g wet on first flush. Is this good?

Did you have the lid flipped from the start? Great work btw!

Yes, lid flipped all the time. I slightly opened it when fruits got bigger and saw signs of need for more FAE last couple of days. My tubs are different from Sterilite, you can see on picture that corners have lips on top so when flat lid is flipped I have very wide gaps about 1/8" all around. I think it works well.

I was here 10 years ago and I learned the classic teks.  Decided to stop back in and see what was new and I've been wasting my time drilling holes is all I can say- these unmoded tubs outperformed the classics for me and saved me piles of hassle.  Simple and awesome innovation that should've been obvious the whole time- great work.

Is there a follow up video, or instructions on general as to how to place the lid, and do moisten? I can do the part I watched, but I have no clue about lid, or anything after that.

Because we are ever so playful those parts are scattered about in the search engine.

Kidding.

I've not seen a video with this particular info but one of the others may have.

ffaaarrrrkkk that is beautiful bro!!! well done! 900 first flush is pretty good. Ive seen some dudes get 2000grams 1st flush but they were veterans.

what was total fresh/dry for all flushes?

did you have to mist much before fruiting?
