Looks good.
Hard to tell but it might be just starting to knot too.

Thank you, what about this fluffy mycelium in few places? Is this a common thing or an indicator of not enough oxygen?

Both tubs are loaded with white dots today. Searched a bit and I believe they’re knots. Please let me know if anything looks off to you. Thanks!

Kuro: fluffy mycelium is fairly common but ide let a t.c tell you why. Phro: the dots are the first stage of fruits and will turn into pins. It looks good to me! Keep the surface moist and try not to mess with it too much!

So I use this tek but I'm thinking of switching to rye as its more nutritious I see everyone using complicated teks with soaking and rinsing and using gypsum is that all just bullshit can I prep them the same way bod preps oats?

Thanks for the tek, Bod! What I have found most helpful in all of these procedures is patience, not getting too uptight about the details, more patience, and just relaxing and letting the organism do its thing. Reading the whole thread usually helps too as most questions are answered multiple times. Thanks for all the great info everyone!

What’s happening to this tub?! Definitely my first, following the tek to a T tho. Introduce FAE immediately after spawning. Blue is bruising, I think because it keeps changing.

I started with oats, never got consistent results. Switched to millet, it's awesome. I use Caps prepless method, scaled it up to use in bags. Just stick to 2:1 grain to water ratio.

I did a few unmodified shoeboxes and one monotub. This batch here started pinning at 7.5 days which I thought was crazy fast, but they're quite small and the veils are already opening.
Do you guys think I should start cutting them soon? I was thinking maybe give the smaller mushrooms another day or two and then pick but I was reading that many people like to pick prior to the veils opening up.
Also, I was hoping someone could provide some more clarification on surface conditions. I found a lot of contradictory information regarding misting/fanning vs doing nothing at all. Indoors where I live is about 78 degrees (3rd floor apartment) and typically 10% humidity. Anyway, I've read that there should be beads of water on the mycelium once it fully colonizes and also not to mist knots/primordia but the problem I'm having is all of the shoeboxes that I haven't touched seem to be totally dry. There is water on the inside walls of the shoeboxes and definitely high humidity, but the surface is pretty dry. The first successful grow (pictures below), I totally baby sat and was misting and fanning and even totally removing the lid as soon as I seen full colonization, but I don't think the caps look that healthy (they look kind of soggy) and they're very small.
So if anyone could tell me based on these pictures if they believe there is too much/too little FAE, water, etc. that would be awesome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, thanks for this tek!

I have similar humidity and run mostly shoeboxes.
Yours look really good but the caps might be slightly waterlogged.
I keep the lid snapped on or sometimes one short end unsnapped and just resting in place. Depending on the culture I usually end up misting a couple times during pinning.
Dub tubbing works great also.
For people like us with super low rh top layer at spawn is a huge help.
As long as you’re getting a good pinset it’s doing fine. I think one of the biggest realizations for me was that misting isn’t about watering the tub, it’s just to keep evaporation going.
All the water is already in the coir.

Awesome thanks.
I forgot to mention that I did make a mistake with my coir/spawn ratio. My intention was to use a 650g brick of coir to fill 6 shoeboxes. I ended up filling 9 shoeboxes with one brick. Next time I should have about 50% more coco coir and a thicker casing layer which may help.
Edit: So I ended up using about 72g of dried coco coir to 1 quart of spawn.

Your subs are on the thin side but still fine.
They’ll just run out of water more and need to dunk after each flush.
No reason to use extra coir if you don’t have to right.

First ever harvest:
72g dried coco coir to 1 quart of spawn. Mixed the spawn with substrate on 5/23 in the afternoon and harvested 6/4 in the AM. I thought these mushrooms were small at first but the yield was 325g wet, which I believe is good for a 6qt shoebox. This shoebox is much faster than the rest, and the mycelium growth in the quart jars was much faster as well. It was so fast that after G2G transfers, I would notice pretty good mycelium growth after 8 hours. Most of my other boxes spawned on 5/23 are barely showing pins or nothing at all.

Nice.
Yeah that’s super fast spawn to harvest. Every now and then you’ll get one like that. Sounds like the rest are more normal.

Can someone please tell.me what is going on with this tub. 3 of the corners keeps drying out and if I mist they just get puddles then I have to dab it up with the paper towel. This is my first flush.

Unbodified is the way to go. 5cc's of ms syringe to 5 quarts of eaf oats. Loose lid, misted once.
Does not get any easier than that.

Did you just flip the lid the whole time? Never moved it at all? Other than to mist
