a month and a half later, B+ MS cleaned on agar, expanded on oats, spawned to straight coir 12/28. cased at spawn, lid on right side up no gasket, then flipped at pinset. if I had like four more hours I'd have the full canopy I think. but they had to get chopped down now. can't wait for second flush.

thanks bod!

Haven’t run an unmodified tub in over a year. Decided to pit this Cambo clone against itself, the other one spawned to a mono. Both pinsets are equally spectacular, the unmodded tub being one day ahead.

so as per the Tek, I have a question or two:
I have 36 qt jars of rye spawn, each with about 1cup rye fully colonized.
I have a damn Coir brick that is like ~11.2 lbs
So if I go 1 brick (~650g ), even though it will be a pain to break down that massive 11 pound brick... to a 54qt tub. Then each tub should get 6 jars of spawn, right?
So im going to exhaust all jars and get 6 tubs, right? (which, if I did the whole huge brick of coir, it would give me almost 8 tubs worth, so Ill have a little extra, right? like ~1300g extra, or 2 tubs worth extra coir)

Wait, one cup colonized? should be about 3 cups. Maybe you mean dry rye.

Wait.. what? Shit.
So I started with 10 cups dry rye. After prep (rinsing, soak, boil, cool) it filled 10 jars. All 10 jars are colonized, but I thought that would still be about a cup per jar of spawn. I realize that's retarded now
So each jar is between 2.5 to 3 cups (500-600mL) of fully colonized spawn.
But the Tek still calls for 5-6 jars per 650g brick right?
....I hate chasing my tail.

youre still good. 11 lbs is around 7.6 650 g bricks. your 36 jars will do six tubs by the book. my tub upthread was spawned with 5 jars (each started with one cup dry oats) if you want to stretch your spawn one more tub.

Would this work if I were to use a outgrowers all in one manure bag? If it would work, the coir and vermiculite would still be needed? Thank you for any and all help your able to sked my way, it's all very much greatly appreciated.

Would one of your unmodified tubs be worse off in a tint with 80% humidity? I thought it would help...

It's more of a question of why. If your house is really dry, and you see that it's affecting your sub, then maybe that will work. But first you could try smaller adjustments that may solve your issue: Try not opening lid, keep it closed (flipped up), not turned. Don't use any fans. Mist as needed...
Beats having a tent in your house

I think it would inhibit surface evaporation off the substrate which would be bad. And it would slow down FAE which relies on natural air currents. So i don't think it would work well at all. But you could try it. My tubs go into my dry ass home. I think its almost beneficial because it helps create the perfect climate inside the tub with the Concentration gradient from surface of substrate to outside of tub conditions

I have two bags of lions mane growing and I needed a small tint to keep the humidity up for them. I plan on returning it after I got my fruits. I was just making sure I wasn't hurting my cubes. I'm getting my first flush right now of both cubes and lions mane and it's beautiful.

You're probably right, I've got four tubs going. I have the tint for lions mane so I thought maybe it would help. I'll put one in there for science and see what happens.

It seriously took me like a minute before I figured out what was going on. The worst part is I read it earlier and caught it cuz it only said tint once, when I read it this time I seriously thought people were tinting tubs for lions mane or something and I somehow never heard it mentioned before.

Using BOD easy AF TEK for first time here in the Southwest where the humidity is super low year round. Followed all of BOD's instructions and ratios with OAT grain prep. Jars colonized perfectly. Did several quart jars (5) to coir in 54qt tub as suggested. I put a tiny bit of coir on top as pseudo casing layer b/c of low humidity. The one thing I can't find anywhere in all of BOD TEK write-ups is when you put it into fruiting condition (mix of spawn & coir) in the 54qt container - do you have the latches up so there is the 1/4 inch high opening around the upside down lid or are the latches left folded open and you let the lid sit upside down directly on the tub with just the little air (FAE) that can enter during the first 10-14 days to colonize? I originally had the latches in up/closed position with lid sitting upside down on them )big FAE gap and my coir keeps on drying out on top layer. I'm needing to spray/mist every 2-3 days to keep it moist. Just wondering as I have very little white mycelium growing after 12 days. I did field test the coir after letting it sit overnight and it test perfect - at field capacity. Trying to understand the upside down lid with latches and how best to hold humidity in coir in dry southwest to get it to colonize so it will eventually pin and fruit. Cheers

So I had to try it. Bought some tubs and dedicated a stack to try this tek. Best pinsets I’ve had Seriously BOD u the man, thanks for making this stuff accessible to those of us with less experience.
