That thick creamy white growth is typical of bacterial infection: cubensis won the fight during your dry period... congrats lol

I figured that must’ve been what happened, it looked ok til the shitty tek I followed said to sterilize the casing, that’s when it went off the rails.
It was my first grow ever so it had to pull through.

Lol, likely grain prep or "field capacity" was just a LITTLE too wet and exacerbated an underlying infection... temps higher than 73 or so also aid in the development of bacteria substantially... the fruit were pretty, and it flushed several times? #fukit, it's a win

Dont be anal about surface moisture: ESPECIALLY after pinset... shouldn't be an issue up to that point: long story short, misting is rarely necessary before harvest in an unmodified tub...
Overlay isn't a thing for cubensis: matting from overmisting though? Pins will push through in either event, and though you may have fewer fruit. They'll grow larger and typically make up the difference in yield in numbers with size
Whatever you want to call this. Happens with my mazs every time.

Then you get this:

Its not bacterial, it happens every time with clean spawn. Just a weird growth characteristic.

Lol looks like soap suds.
I just cased three maz tubs I wish I had left one now to see if it did that.
Had the potential

I thought about casing them, but just let it ride. They rise up from underneath, really bizarre.

Of course, but appreciated all the same! Feel like a lot of what I'm doing ends up being "measure 100 times, cut.. not at all, sit down and shut up"

Right on... Shit happens man, its ok... doesn't mean you ain't no good... Nor is it meant to be insulting... keep on keeping on with it
"Too wet" not hard to spot... seems Maz is particularly sensitive to it during colonization, but didnt hurt pinset so

I don't take it as insulting. What you are saying isn't correct. Just trying to talk about a certain variety and what it does. I would be happy to send you a print so you can see.

I'm pretty sure I've got one ... I think you sent it? Lol... it's still cubensis, and still uber wet... those dark impressions and tufts of mycelium on the caps? Signs of excess moisture... the matting too... maybe it's just super sensitive, but these are the signs
I'll agree to disagree and concede your experience with them: just basing on what I've seen with other varieties, and cross referencing with the photos you all are posting...
It might not be by much, but it's too wet: if even only for the variety... I'd bet dollars to donuts that if you drop half a quart with initial hydration, it'd not be near as bad... not that it's "bad": still a stellar flush by any measure

Thanks guys but I didn’t really do anything. Been on this tek for a while and that’s the best thing about it.
