Does anyone have any advice for this tek in a 100% humidity environment? My regional humidity never raises above 60 and its even lower within my house, so i have what i call a "humidity tent" where my fruiting tubs go. Would such humidity be detrimental to this method, or is it harmful to have such high humidity constantly surrounding my fruiting trays? I've been using a regular mono w 4 holes and my fruits are far too small and fuzzy and uneven...

Sorry I'm late getting around to this but okay that makes sense. I didn't know a shoebox grow would be that differentnfrom a regular tub. My initial intention is to atleast get a feel for surface conditions and as a sort of proof of concepts for me and then I can scale up and learn to dial in tubs. I realize theres differences. But I just wanted an expert opinion on the whole thing. I guess if I am going to seriously fuck everything up once I'd rather it be on a shoebox than a whole mono. Not that I think I'll have perfect mono's every time if I do a shoebox first. I'll just have that experience under my belt.
EDIT: I also want to add at the time I had initially posted my question I was getting feedback on the topic from multiple sources which is why I came to my decision, not because I already had my mind made up lol

I wouldn't put a tub in that environment
If the humidity in your home is above 60% you'll have mold issues. Who cares if your humidity doesn't get above 60% doesn't matter

Okay, so that brings up my last question: would I be beneficial, in terms of low maintenance, to have the humidity in the tent around 70-80? EDIT: before you say ditch the tent completely, humidity is only itβs secondary purpose really. Itβs mostly for keeping the temps constant, itβs always cold in my house, only around 65 farenheit

Is that what u actually do or just trying to convey that the humidity of the room theyβre in doesnβt matter? Iβm sorry, itβs just hard to decipher tone over the internet lol

both
too high of humidity outside the tub the tub itself won't be able to evaporate will get stale you will grow a bunch of mold. if you live somewhere it's that humid you would probably need to use a fan in the room with the tubs. the tubs create an environment that's quite a bit more humid than the room hence using the tub to grow them. fruiting chambers don't need fruiting chambers...
most people can't even grow cubes in humidity tents well anyway.

RIGHT , i saw this after. Honestly there are so many teks that look amazing I am not even sure where to start with. I got brown rice and verm, with little shoeboxes, but looking at this idk if i should return the goods and go with grains and try agar with a monotub. Any advice? :c i want a successful grow for a large amount, but I of course want to lessen the chance of contamination. Should I stick with brf cakes to a shoebox, or go with the agar/mono? thanks in advance c:

ive got a SGFC, 3 shoeboxes (1 modified 2 not), and a monotub going right now. Had i put all my eggs in any of those baskets, id have been fucked, because my mono and 1 shoebox (modified) are the only ones that fruited. You gotta try different methods to figure out which one is suited for your environment.
Edit: To answer your question as a fellow beginner, I spent alot of money on shit that i ended up throwing away because i had to learn how to not contaminate shit. I wouldnt even try to get that money back. That learning curve was more valuable to me than any first grow first flush i could have asked for. You have to fuck up and waste money to figure out how to do this. You dont get to pop out a picture perfect flush your first time without A) prior knowledge or B) contaminating a ton of shit, thus wasting money. Risk and reward buddy, and theres no better reward than a beautiful first flush.

Yes, DO NOT USE MODDED SHOEBOXES. But like i said, i had to learn that shit. And i did, believe me I thought i knew better than the fine people here, and i didnt. And i wasted money for it. Youre going to waste money, your going to contaminate, and if you try hard and long enough, you will flush a substrate.

Maybe for exotics, but for cubensis theres really not a need to mod anything, unless like you said you live in a heavily humid region. I stay out in the midwest, and ive finally realized that my environment is nearly perfect for unmodified shit, be it shoeboxes or tubs. Around 40-60% humidity nearly year round, meaning all i have to worry about is a microclimate. I dont have to worry about my shit interacting with my environment, because for my purposes, my environment is basically neutral, neither helpful nor hurtful. For exotics, do whatever you gotta do, but cubensis is forgiving, in my experience (which is not huge).
Edit: TL;DR Im agreeing with you, not trying to dispute anything your saying
