Do what's necessary to allow max FAE while maintaining surface moisture, allowing evaporation to occur at a reasonable rate that's manageable

First monotub. This is Day 16 after spawning. These little nodules formed when I was out of town over the last three days. How’s it looking? Too wet, too dry? What do the little nodules mean? Thanks.

I am getting worried. This is now 10 days. I think I read that if it's not 100 colonized in 10 days, I have an issue. Any thoughts. Please notice those corners look funky.

Hopefully good. Slightly concerning bumps.

Fair enough lol
This tub work well enough. I mean it could also be called a shoebox. Here is my unmodified. MS>AGAR>WBS>CVG, only about 2 quarts or sub no mor ethan 2" thick. Spawned weekend before and finished colonizing over the weekend. Noticed some early pins last night. Getting some side pinners coming as well unfortunately but glad its coming along. Plenty of knots too so im hopeful.

I like it so far. Gonna try stacking some. I can see why that would be a bad thing given how this works but they dont weigh as much. Also, although it would technically make it "modified" im thinking I could place a dot of hot glue on each corner (or middle) of the rim to make up for any weight put on the lid

I have a question. I think I put the light a little too close to the tubs. It's looking like the sub is drying out where the light hits it. I moved the light away a little bit. I have a couple pins coming in in the bottom right corner. Should I just leave it be for now? Bottom water a little bit? Close the lid tighter to slow down the growth of the pins?

This IS fully colonized... granted, it's faint in some spots, but it doesn't always turn out super white prior to fruit... hyphal knots are well formed, it does look a bit off... likely bacterial, I'd suspect you're hovering/overmisting, which doesn't help: nor all this negative and nervous energy... walk away for another 3-4 days... like, don't touch it at all...

Light isn't a pinning trigger for cubensis, only full colonization and evaporation... if you're getting fruit prior to full colonization, it's likely contaminated and trying to pump up a flush in a last ditch effort to get genetics out... just give it a LIGHT misting and put the lid on: let it do it's thing... trying to stall it will likely give contamination the break it needs to take hold, and end up with NO fruit!

Looks goofy
Goofy like; a) 'contam or bacterial' and toss it out now' b) 'maybe bacterial but wait and see' c) 'maybe try something at random like hydrate it more'
*shrug* I only ask because I have two tubs (1 week behind this) right beside it and i dont want to risk contam from one to another.
Thanks</font></font>

Unless you have mold that has sporelated (would be quite obvious) other contamination (namely bacteria) cant jump tubs

Yeah... I've never witnessed it, but see a lot of anecdote... I always just thought it to be a common source rather than cross contamination

Hey Bod, thanks for your reply. Now day 18 and no sign of pins. The surface moisture looks pretty good to me - mostly microscopic droplets and patches of bigger droplets (you can sort of see the bigger droplets below).
A few questions - sorry for the bother but this would really help me out on my first mono
- In a situation like this, do you ever decide to rotate the lid to introduce more air which supposedly induces pinning?
- Or should I just keep waiting? How long would you wait before you got really worried?
- Do you think the bumps could be a sign of contamination? I posted a picture of the side bumps below.
Thank you my man!

No surface moisture. The cottony fluffy growth isn't my favorite. Hopefully it foes something
