Doesn't seem to hold as well for later flushes IME... just conjecture based on observation...

My day 5 peek... 64qt unmodified RWF9 MS (first tub in a year or so)...oats spawned 1:1 to slightly under field capacity coir, and a super thin top layer of coir only at spawn... almost looks like it needs a mist, but I'm going to give it a couple more days and see if it will develop surface moisture on it's own... fingers crossed on this one:

Sounds awesome! Good vibes being sent! I haven't considering even thinking about or looking at my tubs surface moisture yet as they are about 50 percent colonized

Yea, since the spawn amount was pretty low it will take longer to colonize, but its about 50 perpecentish colonized. I do see small amounts of droplets somewhat on surface, but not throughout whole surface.

Only on the colonized portion? Lol, mine is developing surface moisture on it's own quite nicely, even wiped the walls dry this afternoon as it was beginning to cause pooling around the edges:

6 and 6... I use mycoquarts for coir measurements too ... though (if this one works out) will probably opt to cut spawn to 5 qts, and use full qts for coir measurements, and get somewhere closer to 1:1.5-2...

I haven't measured the coir before, just use 5-6 quarts of spawn and use enough coir to get around 3 inches depth. never seems like a 50/50 mix. definitely more like 1:2 or 1:3. How thick is that sub?

My depth was like 3 inches. Started misting surface on my tubs that are around 80% colonized.

I wouldn't mist yet, as surface moisture will develop on it's own, a day or 2 after full colonization...

Ok thanks!! I have lid flipped still, so it should continue. Caps, in your experience, what causes myc to stall in a tub?

IME, usually over-saturation, or bacteria... but could be too dry, temps, poor genetics... anything lol

I was thinking about this today, too. Wondering if an uneven top layer of coir could be to blame, too. Just to add to the list.

I dont think it would cause it to stall if otherwise prepped correctly... uneven colonizing, or even fruiting prior to full colonization perhaps? Hell idk... something not good lol

Thats what I was thinking about. Pinning before 100 percent colonization. Guess the mind was thinking about a different tub, not this stalled one.
