Wow that is Really good looking.Lot's of mushrooms-wish I could do that-I think I do not wait long enough for my bin to colonize or something.I am waiting 12 days(after I cased) before even looking at my 2 big tubs.I never get bins all loaded up like your's.What Tek did you follow just - Bods tub Tek? Keep up the good work!

Thanks! 100% Bod's TEKs from oats to tub. I have 2 tubs going right now that put this one to shame. I ran a side by side experiment this time, one was flipped at spawn, the other was flipped at maybe 60%, both had a 1/4" coir topcoat at spawning. The tub flipped at spawn is ready for harvest after 20 days, the one that colonized for a few days is about 4 days behind, both have some very dense pinsets but I was surprised how much faster the flipped tub came around.
This is the tub that I flipped at spawn, I already pulled off a couple hundred wet grams because this clone tends to send up a handfull of huge fruits before the rest come in.

Any thoughts on why my fruits have been so small in these unbodified tubs? There is evidence of insufficient FAE based on the fuzzy bases which I've had a hard time correcting. I have the tub lids frequently at 90 degrees and have even had a fan running intermittently (1 hour periods 5x a day on a timer) throughout the day pointed directly at the tubs. My struggle is in maintaining proper humidity/surface conditions with the lids cracked since I'm working in a dry winter environment. I've got a humidifier running constantly to try to improve these conditions but I'm sure water conditions could be better for the grow. I've had success with other setups but consistently get these tiny fruits in these tubs. Average fruit size is about 2 inches. I love the simplicity of this tek so I would love any advice on how I can improve my setup. I used an in-vitro pin to grow out an agar plate to use for this spawn (was worried about contam issues on my plates since I wasn't getting rhizo growth, but now realize it was likely a nutrition issue with the agar). I currently use CVG with 2-3 quarts sqawn from horse grain. My latest tub I also did a small casing with vermiculite to try to keep the surface moist since that has been a struggle this winter. I've had the best pinset to date with this vermiculite casing but still get a decent amount of sidepins so obviously my surface conditions can be improved. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Interesting mutation in the second photo. To the right of the central mushroom there appears to be a small stem budding off of the cap.

Too wet. Really dark caps is telltale as is small fruits. Fuzz stems happens in all sorts of different air exchange amounts

Got some PESA coming in decently in a 66qt unbodified.
I picked up some sterilites with thicker lids that work great unmodified even with another mono stacked on top (I'm a cheapskate and wanted to save a few bucks instead of getting the ones originally recommended that stack as well). Just unlatching the handles provides more than enough FAE for fruiting. Thanks again Bod for the easy and effective tek, I have cranked out some solid tubs this way.

I checked around-you can get those same containers in canada. Great and the only thing I am confused on is Foil-do you guys foil the top of your substrate or casings? will it colonize with out foil on top-kinda confused on this part.I always use foil- i always thought it was crucial.
Also I want to use just straight Hpoo-its is free for me-contains tons of straw-I am trying batch with just hpoo-oats-1 jar see what happen's. Is this wise or just stick with coco as it is rather cheap.or do a mix? I understand the proper coco should not hold mold unlike H poop-it is poop, rather bacteria ridden stuff one would think.

Follow the tek. No foil. Jar pasteurize field aged field capacity manure for 60 minutes at 140-160F.

Day 2 after spawn to coir. Bods oat tek and bucket tek. Wild spore to agar (pastys agar tek). Absolute noob. First attempt at it.

nice thanks for the tips jhova-I had a massive side pin grow on my kitty litter tub-I hope to get better top growth using this TEK.
In the future how does one Avoid side pinning-I notice these tubs seem not to do that.

Thanks for the quick reply Caps!
Little more info: 54 quart tub (Bods unmodified tek) 1 brick coir (600g, I weighed it). 12.75 cups water. 7 quarts spawn. 12/12 lighting. Lid flipped from the beginning.

That's day 2 styro-how is that possible-man must be nice that be like day 9 for any tub for me-how warm is it where you are-I have hard time keeping at +24c when its -30C out side.Im certain my low temps are effecting things.Have room now with space heater-but causing drying.Hard to maintain proper temps in the winter for me.

7qt to 600g is close to 1:1 spawn ratio... what ratio are you using RP? Are you following this tek and fruiting from spawn? How wet are you initially? I find higher spawn ratio, fruiting conditions from spawn, and spot on/slightly dry field capacity coir to have more an effect on speed than higher temps (which only increase favorability of conditions for contaminants above 68-70°F (20-21°C) IMO/E) and expect it to be fully colonized by the end of day 5, with surface colonization similar to styro's timeline above... got any pictures of your tubs? I'd almost bet on excess moisture present

It started out fast. Not as much growth as I expected today (day 3), based on the previous 2 days. Temps in the room are round 22c with RH at 30%-40%.

Do you guys think 3 quarts of spawn to 1 brick of straight coir in a 66 qt tub is going to be ok? Or is 3 quarts kinda shy? What should I expect to happen using 3 quarts of spawn using this tek?
