It was in pic of the day thread, they let it colonize colonize and start to pin, and then sat the shoebox propped up on the short side against something

I don't see knots yet so not looking good for new years fruit IMO (Maybe, but I seriously doubt it) I'd lay off misting a bit, looks wet... but don't see any obvious signs of contamination... just step away from it for a week and let it do it's thing

Few pics of the shoebox n 2L container. The . This tek is truely easyAF. I am sure wwith practice hopefully i will improve the pinset.
2L container had a top 1/4 coir layer plus due to geometry i think the surface conditions remained slightly better The shoebox has HUGE number of side as well as bottom pins ...

Thanks for headsup, much appreciated Its summers ill have to think of colder spot to keep the tub.

Little update, last week I got some trich but for some reason it did not fuck up the whole sub... I cut the sub in half took the rest out and disinfected the tub, then put the other half back in and it turned out pretty nice..

So ive done a bit of research and it seems the sheer number of pins may cause smaller fruitS. But some of them are kind of odd looking, when should i pick and what ro do about the insane side pins?

Those still look like pins: how long they been growing? Pick anytime between just before to just after the veil breaks... leave them until they're nearly flat if you want prints...Proper surface conditions are the only way to prevent side pins

does this look too dry to fruit? It's 12 days and no signs of pinning. The sub has pulled away from the tub a few centimeters on one corner. I hope I haven't ruined my mycelium.

Have a "meh" pinset, still figuring out dial-in methods in a room that's dry.
Showing what I believe to be some metabolites on the upper right corner of the picture. Suspect having the heat on, in an older house is to blame for drying out with the lid cracked.
Have misted and thinking about bottom watering.
Also purchased an ultra sonic humidifier for the room.
Any thoughts / suggestions on other steps to take for my other tubs that are colonizing?

difficult to judge 100% from the pic, but I guess I was in your position couple of weeks ago. If it helps, mine started pinning almost 15th day. I did realize that my top surface needed more attention as it was sort of drying out like yours(and I had large number of side pins). on my second container, I played with the the lid opening to ensure that the droplets stayed there. that helped.
if you dont see droplets (micro drops not big pools) on top, mist it gently, from a distance and let it fall on the surface slowly.
If the coir wasnt to field capacity, you can always try bottom watering, leave the water in there for 4 hrs and then drain. But I wouldnt go there as yet, give it 3 or 4 more days, ensuring the mist remains on the surface.

I'd close FAE slightly and see. If surface moisture develops: especially if you suspect the presence of metaboites, as any substantial addition of moisture will only exacerbate the issue
