Thanks, its hard to ask a question without being flames if it doesnt fit the forums rhetoric. Glad to see there are other open minded people involved though. Its like Bod discovered this by trying it and sharing. Im sure all the heard would of flamed him too at the time. Now its becoming the norm. I vary it a little due to having the wrong boxes and its like a

The thing is unmodified tubs belong in this thread and modified tubs belong in its own thread. It makes it easier to find information relevant to your search criteria.

Any tub will function unmodified, the lid can be positioned to allow any degree of FAE... if holes make it more comfortable for you, use holes... it's not a new concept, or as complicated as it may seem

I think in this case the cross over works as Caps just explained something readers wouldnt of known before. Open your thinking up and try new things. Its not all set in stone......... Ask Bod

Its called using what you have available. So I want to use an old mono tub to get the same air flow by turning the lid upside down and taping the bottom holes up so I can dunks after fruiting. I cant do that or ask here?
If it wasnt for this thread I wouldnt of even thought of it. Not relevant?

There was a guy that posted an unmodified tek a long time ago before bod. His method was to slide the top of the lid about an inch to the side and seal it up at night. Im pretty sure his lids are similar to your lids. Aero did a similar setup thats worked pretty good with bags.
Over the last couple pages of this thread theres been first timers drying out their subs with the regular setup. Taking that into account that an unmodified tub with lid flipped gets more FAE than a traditional mono; are you concerned your substrate will dry out with more holes?

Not so much as I would use bod mist and fan method when necessary and use micropore tape for top hole. If I can gaffertaper them all up and it works it would be preferable.
