flipped her this morning with the cutting board, about 20+ pins on there with lots spots that looked like knots already. She has a much better surface on her now that is plenty moist and glistening.
This probalby means you arent getting enough humidity on the surface which would need to be addressed.

He's been dialing in I believe... I'd've left it and tried to remedy surface conditions on the original surface to gain a better understanding of the response to changes in conditions... science lol

So if you think the bottom holes are pointless you could have a slightly unmodified tub and only have the top holes? Or even drill a couple of holes at the top if you want to demodify a mono tub you have been using that doesnt have handle grooves? Only if you want to tape up the pre drilled holes

I've used holes and no holes, I prefer no-holes and misting.

haha go figure.
Holes were the old way, unmodified is new way. It really all boils down to personal preference. I find the lid as hole (unmodified) is easier for ME to dial in.
As always, your mileage may vary.

Unmodified is easier... there's the obvious lack of modification needed, and the lid can be adjusted to allow any degree of FAE from nearly none to open air fruiting... simple

Started with brf cakes and that yielded a bunch of fun, wanted to try this tek... at this point for me there is a fine line between learning and obsessing about it lol.

It was supposed to be for people who already have tubs or boxes that dont have the said handle grooves. I thought I made it simple but sometimes I struggle and create a head explosion. So in my case I have 2 new boxes.
old box

New box
So I have 2 new ones and they dont have handle grooves. So all I was saying was that instead of buying a box with said grooves I can just make a few holes at the tope or use old mono holes.
For the mono tubs I could tape up the bottom holes and just use the top ones.
Do you get what im saying now or should I break it down some more?

Using just the top holes is fine I'm sure, may even find you need to partially tape them as well

My eyes fail me for much detail, not particularly fond of the blank patch:makes me think of bacteria... but I see pins, and no extremely obvious, other-moldly growths lol
