Thanks
It's up to you as long as the substrate is between 5-10cm thick!
You can go with less grain more bulk sub or the other way around

Is there be a difference in yield?

You're not suggesting we add nutrients between flushes are you? Bod says the oat substrate contains more nutrients than the mycelium will need for their lifetime.
Also, you're saying that it doesn't matter how much spawn we use right?
Thanks

Well, when I was reading Bod's Tek, I know he said 7qts spawn to 600g (or one brick?) Coir, so it was a bit ambiguous.

Probably for the larger tub... and no adding nutrients, the grain is your nutrients, he's implying more spawn I believe...

Bod is right about that we spawn so much more than myc will eat during its life cycle in the jar and the tub. But the more grain you have the more readily available food there is for myc to digest. Of course they will only have digested a small part of the nutrients present in the tub. If you ever fruit a grain jar straight from the jar you will see flush after flush after flush as long as you mist as well. Water and nutrients are the bread and butter.

Also, who's a "kisass"? I'm just trying to get results--and I follow the instructions of those who have, over the years, proven they know the way to those results.

I am doing the math on this first flush and its a bit less then the 10% of the wet. I had 2226g wet and after drying it ended up at 156g dried. Is this pretty normal, is the 10% rule just a rule of thumb?
Is there a way to get better yield or flushes? I understand the process well enough and now would like to tweak things to get better results.

I always get 7-8% return and almost never 10%

I've grown a lot of PE6 and haven't noticed anything special.
