Psilocybe azurescens?
    #22337688 - 10/05/15 05:09 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Woods, 6000' elevation. Deer pellets everywhere, thick bed of sphagnum with buried branches everywhere, found on north facing slope without much sun during the day. Sparse, none really clumped. Appeared to have a decent mycelium layer going. Some attached to wood.
Gills:
Kept all specimens alive, haven't done any close inspection yet.

Stem:
Stipe: basically white with an off tint. No more than 1 ¼" tall by ⅛" thick. No bulb at base, no veil/ring.

Cap:
Diameter, ½-¾", sticky when wet, reddish orange with conical tip

Spore print color: no print available. At school still

Bruising:
Only one stem appeared to bruise, very dark. Kind of recovered when I replanted it.

Other information:
See pics

You know by now that identification requests should include multiple photos, including images of the gill color and the stipe. Let's see it!

i guess i took it as a spin off of the old 'give a man a fish, feed him for a day. teach a man to fish, well ya know.

Yup, habitat is dead on. No observations for P. Azurescens in Idaho.

Will confirm ID and exact location after spore print.

By the gills I've got to agree it's a galerina. Not going to bother with a print. These just don't have the color for a psilocybe print.

in pic 1, the stipe looks off for a Galerina, no?
