I think the second one is a pachanoi, but I'm not sure...
Most peruviani that I've seen have longer spines, and are paler/bluer than that.
The first pic doesn't look like a trichocereus IMHO. The ribs look a bit too narrow and sticky-outy.

hard to tell for sure! it's a bit out of focus... a spine closeup would be ideal.
let it grow for a while and keep us posted!

I?d say the top one is a cereus peruvianus[non active]
The otherone is a bit harder to id..bur it might be some sort of Thricocereus, but i?ll let someone else be the judge of that one..
The top im pretty sure at though..

peace..

yes the first is certainly inactive.
But i can't see why the second one is NOT a tricocherus Peruvianus?!

Ok, I've been looking, and I do kinda believe that could be a peruvianus, cause I think I've seen another person claiming a short spined peruvianus... BUT, look at these...

These older cactuses you compared it to DO have The v-notches right before the spines...

I dont really know.... cactus vary so much, size isnt a good indicator of doses, syrup is the relyable method...

and, no, there arent any poisonous look-alikes.

I have to second that the first is not active.

The second one looks like a peruvianus...Can you be a bit patient ,let them grow an then commit the cactofagy? I think these are pretty small specimens,at least for my definition of "getting a good idea what mescaline is all about"

Second? You mean fourth.
And, like felixhigh said, try to get a closeup of a spine cluster.
