Yeah the era Jordan played in was arguably the most brutally tough era the league has ever seen. You had the Magic led Lakers, the Bird led Celts, the Bad Boy Pistons, the Karl Malone/John Stockton Jazz, the Clyde Drexler led Blazers, the Patrick Ewing led Knicks, the Dominique led Hawks, the Hakeem led Rockets. Hell even those Barkley led Suns were the shit.
That was a really, really incredible era of basketball. Those teams went to war. It's infinitely more finesse these days than it was back during that era.
Very true ---and going back to earlier , I was talking more about MJ's body control in the air. How graceful he was but tough and in your face at the same time. LeBron is more of a bruiser. I have a ton of respect for LeBron and actually like the guy but in my opinion he is nowhere near Jordan.

Well Jordan did the first half of his career flying to the net, being the highlight films every night, then in his last 3 championships he perfected the fade way away jumper, to save his body, but he was still was the one who took the last shot every game.

Still, in that era, a player who hung his hat on the long ball took far more abuse than Curry does these days.

Gasol is the MRS.
Most Repulsive Spainard.
I don't get the 1-9 thing. Does that have something to do with Curry's slump?

Do u have a reference for that. But either way Pippen came in the same draft as Horace Grant, so they didn't have a small or a power forward before. That was Jerry Kraus's one and only famous draft. Pippen was a huge contribution, and people don't realize how much Jordan and Pippen meant on defense. You literally could not pass the ball or one of them would just grab it for a breakaway layup, or a stuff if they were in a dramatic mood.
So then Jordan left for two years and when he came back Phil and Kraus had gotten Rodman, and they were better than ever before. So I'm not going to check, somebody else check. Who took them to 7 games.

Even during those early years when they didn't have a complete team and lost playoff series Jordan was still king of the league.
Quote:
Jordan was also voted in as an All-Star starter by the fans in his rookie season.[2] Controversy arose before the All-Star game when word surfaced that several veteran players, led by Isiah Thomas, were upset by the amount of attention Jordan was receiving.[2] This led to a so-called "freeze-out" on Jordan, where players refused to pass him the ball throughout the game
A fucking rookie and people refuse to pass him the ball during a game that means nothing.
Quote:
Against a 1985–86 Boston Celtics team that is often considered one of the greatest in NBA history,[29] Jordan set the still-unbroken record for points in a playoff game with 63 in Game 2.[30] The Celtics, however, managed to sweep the series
This was coming off a broken foot.
Quote:
Jordan had recovered completely by the 1986–87 season, and had one of the most prolific scoring seasons in NBA history. He became the only player other than Wilt Chamberlain to score 3,000 points in a season, averaging a league high 37.1 points on 48.2% shooting.[15] In addition, Jordan demonstrated his defensive prowess, as he became the first player in NBA history to record 200 steals and 100 blocks in a season
They lost again to the Celtics that year.
Jordan dominated for a few more years but they lost to the Pistons 3 years in a row.
Quote:
However, the Pistons again defeated the Bulls, this time in six games,[26] by utilizing their "Jordan Rules" method of guarding Jordan, which consisted of double and triple teaming him every time he touched the ball
After all that came the 3peat.

Just watched the highlights of the Kings-Warriors game last night. Casspi went off and had a shootout with Curry. Warriors pulled away at the end but it looked like a pretty entertaining game to watch.

Lebron James is shooting %65 from the free throw line at "crunh time" (however they define that), and he is last in the league in shooting pct. outside the paint.

That is shocking if it is true, I would have never guessed it. I really don't watch Cavs games though.

Good win for the hawks tonight in houston. They allowed 71 points in the first half and buckled down second half and got the W.

No. 1: Reports: Knicks’ Cleanthony Early shot in early morning robbery.
According to the New York Daily News, New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was shot in the leg as he was leaving a strip club in Queens. According to the report, Early was riding in an Uber cab when his vehicle was boxed in by three other cars. He was then surrounded by four to six people who robbed him of his jewelry and other items before shooting him in the leg. Here’s more information from Thomas Tracy, Rocco Parascandola and Dan Good of the Daily News:
New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was shot in the leg in an early-morning attack after leaving a Queens strip club, police sources told the Daily News. Early was surrounded by four to six people wearing ski masks and robbed of his items and jewelry — including a gold necklace and gold caps on his teeth, sources said. The shooting happened after Early left CityScapes gentlemen’s club on 58th Street in Maspeth Queens. Early was reportedly in an Uber cab, about a mile away from the club, when three cars boxed in the vehicle. He was shot once in the knee, police sources said. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition. Employees with the gentlemen’s club declined to comment when contacted by the Daily News.
