So first attempt... I searched about this and they said fan more. It seems like at this point rolling again might help.... should I do that or what? And what kind of results should I expect, good??

Yea, not enough FAE would be my guess. I would just let it fruit.

no he has it in what appears to be a half way decently constructed SGFC which provides constant FAE.

I've never seen bacterial growth like that. Can someone point me to a picture of confirmed bacterial cultures that look like that? I'm not doubting it, I'm just curious. The two of you came to the same conclusion so there must be something out there that infects cakes and looks like that.
You are right the fruiting chamber does look well made, but that looks like perfectly healthy, albeit rather tomentose, mycellium to me. I've had cotton balls like that pop up on casings that were fruiting, but it was a result of poor conditions.

I am not saying that growth is the bacteria, but possibly a response to the bacteria within. Something is wrong for sure is what we are getting at.

Ahhhhh, I got ya. Is that a common looking response from bacteria infected mycellium? I'm used to seeing bacterial cultures on plates at work, not on BRF cakes in fruiting chambers.
You're right, it does look like it could be verticillium.

So I noticed that the shroom was growing out of that big mess of white but I had never seen anything quite like that on anyone else's cake. I searched around and found an article where someone cut off those big blotches. Apparently it's bacteria.

Yeah it's Stroma I think. See if its ticks to your cake or comes off with gentle persuasion. I think when it bubbles up like that it actually kind of provides a micro climate for pinning but it's a bad sign. My cake didn't produce much but yours may still bang it out

no surgery is going to change the path that that thing is on. It is either stroma or that cake is just sick. either way it just isn't going to produce much regardless of what you do. Could see something if you wait em out, but as I said earlier in the thread, start other projects.
