Is they still shrooms in Florida right now?

Does cubensis fruit in Florida this time of year. Seems like at least in south Florida they would be.

Actually, it's very easy to isolate a super producing sclerotia strain.

Follow the strain isolation technique on Let's Grow Mushrooms, and then select sectors early which are brown in color.  By the second or third transfer, you'll see stones developing, and this is only about 1 month after the original swipe of spores on agar.

Now, take each stone and move it to a new dish.  Soon, the mycelium will grow out and you'll see fresh stones developing, and if they're good strains, the sclerotia is forming long before the mycelium reaches the edge of the plate.  Pick strains which form four or five stones within two weeks and use these for your grain masters.

It's possible, but somewhat unusual. You'll have more like finding a few blue meanies.

Yea they do...I live in Central Florida and unless a good rainfall along with a warm front comes sweepin on through, I dont bother hittin the fields. You might find some goodies on an average humid night but I highly doubt you'll yield a harvest that was worth the time you took to scour the fields....then again, the worst that could happen is youll find yourself on a naturewalk. You will have a better chance of finding shrooms closer to the coast or ones farther South then in the heartland of central-Northern Florida for it's generally warmer and more humid in those areas. For me, the months of November through the beginning of March I concentrate my attention solely on cultivation and not hunting.

Yes of course, there are Shrooms in Florida.

I've always pondered, there must  always be at least  one shroom to be found, every day of the year,  somewhere in the state of Florida.

Last week i went out there and found 1 blue meanie and also 1 pan subb.

There is not much to be found though, not right now.

Not much, but always something, somewhere.

daytime highs ranging from low 60's to maybe low 70's on some really nice days and nightly lows mid 30's to high 40's with I think maybe 4 nights below freezing thus far, none lower than 28. That is in Jacksonville,Fl extreme NE coastal region.

I would assume that your response was directed at me and if so.....why would I care if you or anyone else for that matter knows where I live ???? By the way, I don't think Jacksonville, Fl is an address

Yeah, it's a joke.

That's the Stevens' address from Bewitched.

I was thinking that it was the Kravitz's, but I guess not.

I have found 2 cubies growing here in central florida over the last week or two. It's not even worth hunting yet. Wait another month or two for the weather to warm up a bit and for some serious rain to start falling. Good luck yall
peace,
rafi

I've only been to Florida once. What's the best time of year for shrooms there? What's the most abundant species there? Cubes, Subbs, blue meanies?

the rainy season is when shrooms are most abundant, usually in SE florida it is july - november, but some years it starts in may, which is good for me

I'm guessing the best place to look is in cow pastures? What time of the day is it best? After a rain shower? In the morning? At night?
