Bernie Sanders * 4
    #22333375 - 10/04/15 04:00 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

I dunno know bout youses folks, buts man I 'm so happy to see this guy starting to get some real recognition n shit, dude had like 20,000 32,000 dudes rallied up for him yesterday, dude's new motto is like "nobody can tell me what to do" lol dude is straight up taking over the world, this is awesome , I'm so happy
Like
literally a couple months ago I had no idea either Trump or Hillary were legitimately legitimate candidates people were legitimately considering voting for, it just blows my mind to comprehend what the future would hold if not for Bernie.
I literally have never once given a shit about who would be president in the past since I never had any desire choosing one over another until now.
It's like
you can either have your country run by some cranky old skank whose pussy is all dried up
some douchebag who's running as a joke
or the third coming of christ

Vote Bernie :sun:

Ok, so lets actually get critical of Bernie and look at his hypocrisies.

1. Bernie's entire platform is based on the same far left rethoric as Obama's "hope and change" mantra. It's all about the 1%, raising taxes, increasing government spending, helping the poor (which they are calling the middle class), and blaming long time corporate interest groups. Sound familiar?

We've had 8 years of that bullshit and out country is worse off than when Bush left it. So this whole argument is just left wing establishment talking points that we've been over time and time again.

2. Bernie refuses to criticize the Left when asked questions about Hilary's email scandal, Obama's shitty Iraq deal. In fact Bernie supports giving $150 billion dollars to Iraq, which is fucking insane. All the while a major talking point of his campaign is kicking out the long term interest groups and the people not making change. Yet he refuses to critical the left, even though he claims he's independent. Sanders is the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, so by definition if we want to get out the long term serving self interested politicians, this guys is the first to go in my book! The bottom line here is that anyone not willing to criticize any member of government purely based on merit is not a real leader or critical thinker and WILL NOT be good for this country.

3. The dude sounds angry and pissed off. He's way to old to be president. People talk about Joe Biden about being too old, yet look right past Bernie's age. Seriously, how can people really think an old 74 year old man, the longest running "independent" that doesn't criticize the Democratic party, will actually be a good representation for the majority of this country?

It amazes me that people actually think the government will do a good job anything by giving it more money and power. History people. It repeats itself. These things happen with mathematical regularity, yet people somehow think that making a country with 50 independently governed states can operate like EU countries.

So yeah, this is just all I had to time type out for now.

It's not like he's trying to completely put a ban on all guns, his stance on them seems fairly reasonable to me

Quote:

Sanders, a Democratic presidential hopeful, went on to specify that he supports banning assault weapons and closing the loophole that exempts private, unlicensed gun sales from background checks -- often known as the “gun show loophole." The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence estimates that 40 percent of guns sold in the United States are purchased via private, unlicensed sales.

The media doesn't even consider him a candidate
Hilary pumps up here fanbase with fake votes and alters the news lol

I've read the paper and they're like, "the democratic candidate Hilary and who ever else is running..."

Bernie is old, he doesn't have a vag
I can't see him winning, mainstream press is going to hand the bid over to trump
when they start shoving that women in the spotlight thing down our throat's
by using someone that's virtually hated by all men over 55 and despised by the military

yeah I don't usually follow elections or give a shit about politics but he really sounds unique. Hopefully he is everything he's cracked up to be. It feels like a ton of empty promises though, hopefully he can  come through.

if we can fund two foreign military occupations for this long, we can probably afford to pay for some stuff back home. the moneys just being printed at this point anyway isn't it?

His lack of bashing on other politicians is one thing a lot of people personally seem to love about him, myself included. I don't understand how you think this is a major negative for him.

And being too old? I disagree with that 100%, he seems pretty sharp to me, if he were having memory issues and couldn't walk it'd be one thing, but he's all there, age should have nothing to do with anything.

Bashing political candidates is vastly different than being critical of policy decisions. And you completely ignored the specifics points Bernie won't answer about Hilary's email scandal, or why he supports the Iraq deal. A president needs/should be able to answer these questions without bashing anyone. It's called critical thinking.

And the age thing wasn't an attack on his wit or competency. And again missing the point that he's the longest running "independent" in congress yet attacks the very same people as being the problem.

He wants to ban AR-15 style weapons and handguns.
He says he wants to ban all guns not used for hunting.
That's a pretty broad spectrum.

Bernout is an extreme left winger and a socialist. I am not impressed by his "report card" none of those things help me. He wants to continue the handouts and most of the failed policies of the present. He is going to pander to unions, women, and immigrants. $150B for Iraq, what the hell is that about?

But he is way better than hitlery, that is for sure. She is a totally sold out hypocrite and piece of shit.

The only one better than bernout is trump. Lets hope one of them gets it.

I think it's fair to say that there is a general lack of political sophistication on the shroomery.

Bernie Sanders is the best candidate to step up to the plate in a very fucking long time.  The General election is so not important and needs no worrying it is the primary we need to worry about.  Register as a democrat and vote for Bernie and we got this shit locked the fuck up.

I've asked you several times to admit who you support, yet you never will, because you're embarrassed. But honestly I don'the blame you, I would be too. A lack of political sophistication is the constant bashing other candidates, without the use of fact, and never making a case for why you support who you support.

Nobody should take anything you say seriously after that last sentence. What a fucking joke.

I posted a number of very specific and critical points at Bernie's hypocrisy. I can't take you seriously when you rebuttal a statement with "what a fucking joke" yet fail to give any specifics or counter points. You also berate people in the thread by saying "I think it's fair to say that there is a general lack of political sophistication on the shroomery.", all because people don't agree with your far left ideology.

What I find extremely ironic is I can criticize any candidate. I can be critical of any of them, including the ones I would vote for. Yet liberals can't give a single piece of criticism towards their base and their party leaders. If you talk to liberals, Obama was the best president to ever walk the planet. Hilary is a sweet and honest lady. Joe Biden was a terrific VP. It's all GOP bashing all the time. Hypocrisy.

@daytripper I hope you are.

You act like everyone here is an Obama loving liberal, when in actuality I can't think of any liberal here who loves Obama, and probably all of them have levied their criticisms one way or another.

It's always the ones who claim to be above the two party nonsense that consistently fall into its trap.

I don't really understand this statement, nor do I understand how it applies to me. Voting for less taxes, less government spending, and more freedoms isn't a trap one falls into. I also make legitimate points about Bernie, yet the only thing people do is attempt to discredit my opinion by talking partisanship. I wasn't even comparing parties in my original point. I was actually talking about real things that Bernie has (or hasn't) stated in his speeches.

I'm not a Bernie fan at all, yet I've watched many of his speeches. The points I made are very real. He completely refuses to criticize any of the policy decisions from the Left. He is in support of giving Iran $150 billion dollars and we didn't even get 4 US prisoners. Literally anyone who thinks the Iran deal is good is ignoring the facts and just playing the political game that is hurting our country. Yet none even wants to acknowledge these points and default to same old washed out talking points we've heard for last 8 years.

Your only criticisms are based on partisanship.

"Bernie's platform is similar to Obama's, and since they're both running as Democrats and Obama lied, that means Bernie is lying too."

As far as the Iran deal goes, maybe you should step outside your echo chamber for a minute, because everyone except Netanyahu and the warhawks in Congress support that deal. Virtually the entirety of the UN support it.

As far as the Iran deal goes, maybe you should step outside your echo chamber for a minute, because everyone except Netanyahu and the warhawks in Congress support that deal. Virtually the entirety of the UN support it.

Even more important, I, Turtletotem, support it as well.
Everybody who went to Iran always comes back telling stories how unlike anything the media told us that country is!

Did you know the Zarathrusta fire faith is alive and well there in Iran?
That shit is older than Judaism!
The embargo against Iran was criminal and in the Netherlands many people are happy that a trade partnership that was centuries old can finally be resumed again.

Ok dude... Like I said, most people are missing critical thinking skills. You are missing the entire point.

So just because everyone else supports a deal the American people never got a chance to read, I should also support it? Also, congress didn't get to vote on it. The "deal" is essentially a treaty, which needs a 2/3's majority vote in Congress. Obama literally uses semantics and calls it something else to avoid the "warhawks" of congress. Which is entirely hypocritical to say when your rebuttal to me is based on my "partisanship"... Yet just because you disagree with the congressional majority, you call them "warhawks" because they disagree with just about everything Obama does. Until you get political hacks like the House Majority leader caving in as soon as the pressure builds. Boehner is a horrible politician, no defending him.

So the American people have no idea what is really in the entire Iran deal. Congress doesn't even know what's in the side deals. We trust Iran to inspect themselves. We didn't get any of our POW's back. We give the largest country of state sponsored terror a $150B. Days after getting the deal they chant "Death to America" and state that after they get the money their dealings with the US is done. People that won't objectively look into the facts of the issue are basically just proved my point tip toeing around the actual issues. The UN is a joke and will basically bend to whatever the US president says, we fund like 80% of the UN anyway.

Non sequitur much? I'm not saying that at all. You're the one who said "literally anyone who supports the Iran deal is ignoring the facts," even when you just admitted you don't know the facts.

So yeah, I'd probably defer to the experts instead of thinking I better understand an agreement that I haven't even read.

We literally didn't get a damn thing dude. What did we get as a nation in this deal? How is giving Iran $150B a good thin? We couldn't we at least get 4 prisoners back. We released 5 terrorist prisoners from Gitmo in exchange for 1 US traitor. That's a GREAT deal. :whatever:

The entire "negotiation" was a joke. It's a political maneuver so that Obama can add another bullet point to his legacy. "First US president in X years to successfully negotiate with Iran and make a deal." It was on the new last week that he was "The first US president to shake hands with Iran's leaders in X years".

Gitmo was criminal. The embargo against Iran was criminal.
We Europeans now have to take on these broken men your leaders illegally put away on foreign soil because it was against your own constitution to do so.
They where tortured and raped, and too many of them turned out to be innocent.

Gitmo is an atrocity on par with the Russian shooting down MH17.

Obama is a puppet, he doesn't negotiate  foreign policy deals. Do you really think they would let some black dude from Chicago with ZERO military and foreign policy experience make deals with our potential enemies?

Just another case of political theater, remember Obama care?

Get rid of the illegals and dysfunctional cultures, and I'll sign-up for that policy.

"Cultural diversity" and strong socialist economic policies do NOT work over time, and they never will, do you know my much resentment there already is when hard working people see a bunch of foreigners pushing around baby strollers without a care in the world?  It's not good.

I don't know about you man, but I come from a pretty multicultural family. I can say pretty damn confidently, you sound like a bitter idiot if you're mad at a foreigner pushing a baby stroller.

The people who give a shit about what race or culture someone is kinda an idiot. It's the person's actions that define someone, not their culture or race.

Well that's a wonderful rant, but it's not grounded in reality.

Why would hard working taxpayers want to support illegals and others for everything to survive?  Yes, they have many children at young ages that they can NOT afford on their own, that's a CULTURAL problem, it's not something I'm making up all on my own.

So yes, when myself and others see a long line of baby strollers from the same demographic that can NOT support themselves, it's very telling.

 Have you ever actually met an immigrant who took all the government handouts without needing it? Because honestly, it just seems like you say these things and have no personal experence.

Honestly, everyone I know that uses food stamps, or free healthcare, or anything among these lines actually need it. I have friends who's whole families relied on food stamps to eat on a daily basis. All the adults in the house work full time, and still could barely feed themselves.

I have NO issue with US citizens receiving social services, not ILLEGALS.

The US already has too many poor people, we don't need anymore.

I believe the food stamp program is a good social policy, are there some abuses with it?  Yes, but the positives outweigh the negatives by multiples.

BTW, I don't consider anchor babies and their families as US citizens, they're illegals.

Few things sillier that Americans using "socialism" as a gobstopper in the most inappropriate ways.

It actually is a thing. A big thing.

There are few things sillier than a foreigner critiquing American culture with improper grammar.

It's not evil, but it can be corrupted just like anything in life.

Who already pays too much into the social services?  It's the middle, upper-middle, and lower upper-classes, that's not good for anyone.  The .01% are never going to pay their fair share, that's the problem.

Instead of accepting that, we need to get them to pay their fair share. That's why Bernie Sanders needs to be elected. Because the rich needs to pay their fair share to society.

If the oligarchs are the problem, then how would a (partially) public owned economy not be a viable solution?

The fact that the top .10-1% holds a massive amount of the wealth and income, and as a result they pay a lot of taxes doesn't mean they are paying their "fair share.

We have the largest wealth and income inequality in over 80 years, this isn't a good thing for capitalism.  I'm a capitalist, pointing out its current failures is the only way it can survive in the future.

I'm incredibly torn on this election, there are so many idiots it's not funny. I have a feeling people will want to vote for hillary because she would be the first woman president just like they blindly voted for Obama because he was black. Or people will vote for WHOEVER is against hillary. There's literally t-shirts saying anyone but hillary.

Sanders isn't a terrible choice but I don't think he will win personally.

It applies even more to massive corporations than just wealthy individuals... which the average us taxpayer subsidizes personally to a tune of 6,000$~ a year..

But we've already established that it exists, and works, in multiple, comparable first world nations. So it's at the absolute least realistic.

You keep on saying the government is supporting illegals which is just total bullshit

Busing illegals from Texas to Arizona is supporting them. Wanting to give them amnesty is supporting them. Granting sanctuary cities to them is supporting them. Affirmative action supports them. Show me the scholarship I get for being a white male and then I'll show you the scholarship for illegal immigrants. Not just immigrants, specifically illegal immigrants. The government supports them every time they detain them without deportation. The allow them to break the law.

The government doesn't support them.  American citizens who pay taxes do.  They use our schools and roads and a whole host of other services.  Like health care.
