fruit flies and their larva in my tubs!!!!

Ok I need some help here guys. I have been working on a dub tub tek and 9 days ago I added the colonized jars to the substrate and the tubs and went out of state. I read that 6 to 10 days would be the approximate amount of time needed for the tubs to colonize. I was out of state for 8 days, got home yesterday, and decided to check the tubs today and start the casing process. But when I opened them they were barely colonized, fruit flies we're in them and one of them was full of tiny little maggots! I read on here that you could dunk them to kill the larva, but if it isn't fully colonized then I can't dunk them without them falling apart. Is there any way I could save them? Or did I completely waste my money and time to get these tubs going? Please help me! I'm lost and discouraged.

At least you don't have to worry too much about bacteria, then.
I'd be worried about them bringing that in otherwise.
Best thing to do is probably follow the advice in those threads.
You probably should watch out for contaminant spores tho.
