Why do Conservatives go wild for Celebrities?

I'm curious why it is that conservatives are so inclined to vote for someone based on their celebrity status.
First it was Reagan, then Arnold Schwarzenegger, and now Trump.
I'm curious what you guys think. Are celebrities qualified to be leaders of the free world? Why are conservatives so inclined to support them?

Because they think every politician is so horrible so they make a point by trying to vote in someone who is even worse.

I think if Donald Trump were to win the presidency it would be proof that the world is fucked. This whole Trump this is such a joke, Putin must be dying of laughter. How could anyone take America seriously if Trump was president?

That's probably why Putin is ordering the US to stand down. We've become a nation of ignorant fat fools who treat elections like a horse race, and worship celebrities.

When Obama was elected, Rush was the first to call him the "celebrity in chief" why? because there was no substance, just smooth talking and charisma...
If anything, the liberals have celebrity worship much worse, how many celebs go to the white house? Jay Z, Beyonce, and then spout to their followers how great this lib or that lib is...
and Arnold was hardly a conservative, he was elected gov of california, thats a conservative state, right? How about Jesse Ventura? another governor of a very liberal state...

California is a conservative state? Minnesota?
Maybe you should try using logic instead of just nonsensical libtard BS...

That'd be bbws point, not mine.
But no, his point is still valid. The fact that Arnold could get elected in a state as liberal as California just goes to show the fervor of conservative voters when presented with a movie star.
If anything it strengthens his point

Jesse Ventura is hardly a Liberal. He's quite conservative on a lot of issues. Arnold governed as a fucking Republican. What does the state he governed have to do with it?
Reagan, Arnold, and now Trump. Republicans worship celebrities like a bunch of awestruck fucking idiots. Reagan, the celebrity president, was arguably the worst president in US history, and he is the most celebrated president by right-wingers.

Arnold was elected in a blue state by blue voters
"Putin ordered the US to stand down because trump entered the race."
honestly the dumbest thing I've heard all day. It's because Obama and Bush fucked up the region so beyond repair that we no longer have any standing there. We spent over $250 million in Syria alone and we have "4 or 5" guys there Putin can do whatever he wants over there not because a candidate you don't like entered the race, it's cause our leadership is utterly incompetant. Fucking idiots.

I know a lot of liberals that were big fans of the Governator. I think it's just name recognition and a voter base that doesn't really participate in politics beyond the surface. And again that goes for both liberals and conservatives.

so california is a conservative stronghold
There are Republicans in California, just like there are Democrats in Texas. Arnold ran as a Republican, and Republicans voted for him. Reagan ran as a Republican, and Republicans voted for him. Donald is running as a Republican, and from the looks of things, Republicans are going to vote for him. Whether or not Democrats also vote for him is not the issue I was bringing up with this thread. I was pointing out the Conservative worship of wealth and celebrity status.
There is a reason Republicans run for office in California.
