I read the manga a bit as a kid, seems pretty promising so far!

It just premiered tonight I thought, watching the first ep now.
I dig the sci fi alien aspect of it, can't wait to see how it progresses.

You mean a trailer or something? Or a subbed version or something?

yeah, that's just the dub premiering on AS, the series started like 4 months ago, maybe longer. another reason to watch subs besides them being better
edit: it started a year ago and finished in march

I hate reading subs when I watch something, as I kid I didn't care but I feel it makes the immersion not as good.
So does terrible dubbing of course but some dubs are done pretty well, this one seems pretty professional.
Reading the manga is the most og way, I definitely read a bit years ago but I doubt it was much.
I liked the first ep but the soundtrack is pretty overly electronic for my tastes.

i never had that problem, and i love Japanese voice acting. i feel like dubs can fail to fully bring out the quirks of some characters and moments. but im not a full dub basher, if its the way you enjoy it then watch on. and i fully agree on the manga front

There are definitely plenty of terrible dubs out there, some are done pretty damn well though.
I just like to look around and try to absorb all the art when I watch anime, which is harder if I have to read all the dialogue to stay caught up.

omg... your like one of the biggest anime people hear and i you just took a big dive saying you watch subs.
I dont even like subs because they dont translate well (im literally learning japanese because I hate english subs that dont give you the true meanings. Dubs take this even further from the source. That being some dubs are done better than the subs (FMA) but they are very rare.

Where did I say I watch subs? I said as I kid I didn't mind, to get as ahead as possible I would watch them.
I would loe to just learn Japanese but that is a lot less realistic than reading subs or watching the dubbed versions if/when they get made
There are many dubs that put a lot of effort into keeping it as true to the source as they can, just like there are anime's that do good or bad manga adaptions.

I meant to say dubs.
But seriously most English subs are horrible translated, anything that doesnt include suffixes (such as san) Is utter waste of time because japanese doesnt really translate to english and often its up the translaters interpretation. However some subs have more literal meanings but they are also rare.
Trust me some are so bad they actual mess up plot points.

Try watching more subs atleast. At first I can understand that it may distracting to the rest of the screen. But overtime it becomes natural. I cant really explain it but I can read subs while watching centre screen without missing anything.

I watch with subs whether it's a dub or original audio. All things being equal, I'd prefer a dub over subs so I can watch what's going on more easily but sometimes the dub tracks are pretty badly done.

I like to dart around the screen and focus on different things which is pretty much impossible while reading text
I am a bit picky with my anime anyways so generally when I get into one I can look past some bad dubbing at least somewhat

In kill la kill she has a manly voice but then they dubbed it and her voice was more girly and I feel a lot on inflections in voice go missing which is why attack on titan is boring as shit in english lol
One peice and naruto was done right

I thought kill la kill was pretty good, the voicing suited the ridiculous nature of the show but also captured the intensity pretty well.
Her voice is definitely pretty girly in English but it has some grit to it and sounds pretty tomboy esque a lot I think.
Attack on titan is way too agro of a show for me to get into in general.
There are plenty of anime with decent to great voice acting, just like there are plenty with terrible subs or dubs.
There are also plenty that do a shit job adapting the manga and or rush it then add a fuckton of filler

I have seen the 1st season, but stopped there because I got all wrapped up in Tokyo Ghoul. Parasyte is a good one though, I like the story.
I don't watch AS on TV, but do so on the computer, and also all anime I watch is online.

I watch most stuff online too usually but for dub premieres of shows I am excited for I will wait for em. It is worth it, sometimes it just makes me want to get ahead in the story watching subs online though
I just watch new eps of some shows on as mainly, Rick n morty, your pretty face and a few others. Speaking of that has anyone been watching akame ga kill or whatever? Weird show, I ant decide if I like it or not. Or of it is ment to be a videogame like .hack or some shit, they use the term experience points and some other weird stuff but the show is pretty serious and just seems like a fantasy adventure show...

Have you noticed the weird video game angle too? Did I miss something or some shit
The hellsing OVA is ridiculous A bit overly violent for my tastes but I dug it, who could not dig epic nazi vampire ww3 shit...
I just started re watching Magi: The Labrynth Of Magic, pretty interesting show. Kind of cheesy at times but also pretty dark and intense and it has a great fantasy/ magic element too it. I love the bright colorful animation as well as the cl geometry they use for some of the magic stuff. It also has a lot of psychedelic concepts in it that I love. One example is a giant ball of light that encompasses all existence that we came from and return to when we die and become energy again. Some cool stuff.
