Dont kill me.
    #2232956 - 01/10/04 10:49 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I searched for about an hour, and found nothing about my question, nothing close. I'm really not that good with computers and what not, and it just seems like an endless maze looking through these forums. I read the faq, at least what was relevant to me and did not find it. IF its on this site before, i really apologize.

What time of the year do mushrooms grow in central florida? And if it is out of season, can they still grow during a warm/rainy spell? How does the season work, do the shrooms have to clonize all year or something, and then sprout during season? How long does it take for spores to develop and where do they come from in the wild?

answer what you can, thanks guys

I can't answer all your questions...but the faq says :

?Found from February to November in compact groups in clearings outside forest areas, on cow dung, or horse dung, in rich pasture soil, on straw, or on sawdust/dung mixture in Mexico, Cuba, Florida and other southern states? Thats for cubes

Im pretty sure you can find them in december and january too, but it wouldnt be worth hunting you wouldnt find alot...

You'll need to bring a magnifying glass because spores are microscopic. Or you can buy them from a vender.

if you can find a psilocybe cubesnis growing, then you found yourself some spores. go check the mushroom hunting forum, you should be able to find all you want to know about wild mushroom hunting. and if you dont, ask a question.

:wtf: um... all you need is a mushroom, no microscope, are you implying he look for spores themselves rather than find a mushroom and make a print cuz that would be pretty funny seeing some kid crawling around on a pasture searching through cowpies for some spores.

to the person who started this thread:(i.e. if your not the person who started this thread don't pm me for prints please) mushrooms are a bitch to find this time of year around here (I'm in central florida as well) if you want I can send you a print for free, it's not wild so it will be sterile for sure, ossira india is the strain, PM me if you want it peace :stoned:
