Looks great, man! Cashews are great on Thai.
I meant to ask you about your asparagus soup. How'd you make that??? It sounds good, but I've never heard of it before.

did the standard carrot, onion, celery with asparagus spears added ( saved the tips for later as they take way less and needed texture )
i did veggie stock due to a veggie roommate that wanted some, salt, pepper, garlic. then milk and emulsion blender. added reserved spear tips about 15 min before serving.
was pretty yummy as long as you are not one of those oh my pee stinks later type
yea cashews are yummy

That's pretty easy; darn near the same recipe for every soup! I made a butternut squash soup, over a month ago and it was the same damn recipe. Only, butternut squash instead of asparagus, heavy cream instead of milk, and a regular blender instead of an emulsion blender. (turned out homogeneous and delicious, luckily)
Wish I had an emulsion blender for that AND the tiramisu mess.
Thanks for posting that! Reminds me that I need to make more soups with good veggies like that! It's so easy and nutritious.

Here's a good one I'm probably going to make tomorrow. It's a Serbian spread called "kajmak" (Kai-mahk).
2 cups of sour cream 1 cup of feta cheese 2 cups of cream cheese (softened)
Crumble the feta into tiny bits. If you can crumble it through a sieve, even better. Add the softened cream cheese and the sour cream. Beat it all together with a mixer until its well blended. Refrigerate overnight. Spread on fresh, hot bread, bagels, or eat with a spoon.
This recipe makes a lot, so if you live alone or something, you can split it in half.

A wedge salad is when you cut the head of lettuce into quarters instead of cutting it into shreds or small pieces. Then you place the toppings and dressing on top instead of tossing them in like a regular salad.

lol, never done 'em double-barreled like that That looks fucking delicious, man! I'm doing some major shopping today and will definitely make some dishes to rival reposado.
@chameleon303: Chicken pot pies are deceptively a lot of work! The pastry crust alone is a process. How'd it turn out?

I've posted a few times in there and it's clear that the forum is somewhat lacking in traffic. My initial intention here was to gain interest for the culinary board. I even fully expected mods to move/trash it after a bit. Here is the thread I cloned from there if anyone wants to give 'em a poke! It seems to get a few posts a month
I still think people should post their in depth, killer recipes, in there, but I think now it's more about inspiring random people to cook more (to inspire myself to eat out less) in lax/casual way. Pub has traffic and we've been seeing a lot of amazing shit, so whatever.

doing ham and cheese sandwich with the chicken bean soup tonight.
culinary forum is good but alas quiet. i have been bumping this bitch semi regular.
