Psilocybe quebecensis? Need 2nd opinion

Was found in the Jacques-Cartier Valley, directly on rotting wood & mosses, near birch trees and some other I don't know the name (will need help for this too, posted some pics).
Caps are between .8-2.3cm, hemispheric to convex, without umbo.
Very strong bluish and greenish reaction, gills very dark purple. Did not had the best spore print but looks like black-purple.
I'm 99% sure this is Psilocybe Quebecensis.

Any ideas?

Hey that's very cool I might be able help on the tree ID if you put up pictures of the leaves and bark
Looks like some blue mycelium!
You should leave all the caps on tinfoil under a cup overnight and try and get some good prints.
Check this out for some tree names to google as well

Looks like an active Psilocybe to me. I have no idea on the species, though.

Mycoquebec is an outstanding website.
Especially for anyone in the Northeast: Use the "noms latin" index at the top, and use google translate if need be.....

Nice find! Id say quebecensis for sure. The rhizomorphs and hemespherical cap seperate it from caerulipes plus location is obviously perfect for quebecensis. My only question is how come no scenery pictures!? The Jacques Cartier valley is outstandingly beautiful

I totally forgot to put the trees pics sorry, I did not got the leaves though. Thanks for the link. I was not aware what making the print on tin foil, looks like a good idea, thus it work better? I always thought of a simple white paper.

Yes I actually saw them on this site as well before going there, after comparison I am even more certain this is Quebecensis, here's the actual link:

Awesome pictures! I need to get up there. Your pretty limited in trees up there, will be mostly yellow and paper birch balsam fir and red spruce with scattered maples, a typical boreal/northern hardwood forest transition. Looks like first picture of trees is a fir while the other 2 are yellow birch. Awesome stuff, I'm jealous.

Very cool,
As Roy said your photos are Balsam fir and Yellow Birch. it looked like yellow birch may be the substrate....Was it growing from the wood in this photo??

Foil is better for preservation than paper, and should be virtually sterile. It's also easier to get spores off aluminum foil than paper, and wont be as moisture sensitive as paper.
Paper works great for ID purposes, foil is better for everything else including storage.

Yes directly on wood and moss, but not on birch wood, the birch was only nearby.

The plot thickens.....
Thanks for showing us your awesome find!
If you ever pin down the species of wood this was growing on, come back and let us know, or if needed give us some photos with bark and leaves.
Cheers.
