How am I doing? I think something went wrong. There is blue mold forming on the cakes. only one of my four cakes has a pin.
Inoculated on 8/28
Birthed on 9/25
Dunked for 12 hours then rolled in vermiculite
Placed in shotgun terrarium
12 hours of light (23 watt cfl)
I was misting and fanning the first few days at these times: 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12am
I have recently only been misting once a day but have still been fanning at the above times.
Here are some pictures. Any advice is appreciated.

1.) Your cakes are dry, hence the bruising (aka "blue mold"), mist them more frequently. (Don't fan them without misting) 2.) You appear to have cased them in perlite, not vermiculite, and perlite doesn't absorb water, water just sits on the surface, it's probably contributing to their dryness. 3.) You probably should have done a 24 hour dunk, feel free to dunk them again if they feel light. 4.) Photos should be uploaded to shroomery, not photobucket
How much perlite do you have in that fruiting chamber? 4-5 inches?

Damn... my money's on contamination like mycogone or a white mold. They look retardedly dry. Also you don't even need to fan. Fanning is always done after misting too to help promote evaporation, it is also optional. What you're doing is just drying them out.
This is what you want to do. Read this top to bottom.
This too. They look like they're also in need of more fae/better dialed in sgfc

thank you for your response. I just misted the crap out of them and the terrarium.
They were rolled in Virgo vermiculite. The white blobs that look like perlite is what I suspected to be mycelium or mold growing outward.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking mold also. I just drenched them. I will use a 1/4 drill bit right now to make my holes a little bigger. I will also read the threads you gave me. Thanks again
